The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of university students anxiety and ego-identity on career decision level. The subjects used in this study included the 653 university students. They were administered self reported questionnaires such as the anxiety questionnaire, the ego-identity questionnaire and career decision level questionnaire.
The research problem is as below :
1. How far can the anxiety of university students prove the career decision level?
2. How far can the ego-identity of university students prove the career decision level?
3. How do the career decision level show the difference according to various factors - gender, school year, major?
The following conclusions were drawn from the results examined in P< .05 significant level through Pearsons correlation, one-way ANOVA, Scheffe' post-hoc, t-test and multiple regression analysis using SPSS 11.0.
The results in the statistics are as follows :
First. There is the negative correlation between anxiety and career decision level. the lower anxiety shows the higher career decision level. Second, in regard to relationship between ego-identity and career decision level is a positive correlation. Third, various factors have little to do with the career decision level. That is, there is no difference between gender, school year, major and career decision level.
In conclusion, anxiety and ego-identity affect the career decision level. However, gender, school year and major have nothing to do with the career decision level.
