學父母의 幼稚園選擇 決定要因과 選好意識에 關한 硏究 : 光州廣域市 幼稚園을 中心으로 = A Study on the Parents' Preference and Decision Factors in the Choice of Kindergarten:Concentrated on the Kindergarden in Kwangju City

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 광주광역시를 유치원을 대상으로 학부모들이 유치원 선택시 어떠한 측면에 중점을 두고 있는 가의 유치원 선택 결정요인을 총합적으로 분석하고, 이들 요인에 대한 학부모들의 유치원 선호의식을 조사하여 유아교육에 관한 기본적인 문제점과 개선책을 파악하는 것을 주된 목적으로 하였다. 조사대상자는 광주광역시 5개구(동구, 서구, 남구, 북구, 광산구)에 소재되어 있는 공립 및 사립유치원 36개소 유치원에 다니고 있는 유아의 학부모이며 총 675명이다. 연구자가 직접 제작한 설문지는 응답자의 인구통계학적 특성, 유아와 관련된 기본적 사항, 유치원 선택시 중요도 평가항목, 기타 유치원에 대한 바램 등의 4개의 항목으로 크게 분류되어 있다.
설문지는 배포후 회수방식으로 자료를 수집한 후, 이를 사회과학 통계패키지인 SPSSWIN 프로그램을 이용하여 요인분석 및 분산분석등으로 결과를 처리하였다.
본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다.
첫째, 학부모들이 유치원을 선택하는데 있어서 중요한 결정요인은 <1. 실내외 시설과 환경>, <2. 외형적 특성>, <3. 교육자료의 종류와 운영방법>, <4. 교원의 교육적 자질>, <5. 교육의 전문성과 연계성>, <6. 교육적 서비스시설>, <7. 통학비용과 공간규모>, <8. 교육자료의 기록 및 관리> 등 8가지 요인으로 밝혀졌다.
둘째, 광주광역시 학부모들은 유치원 선택시 중요도의 우선 순위를 '외형적 특성'(제2요인) - '통학비용과 공간규모'(제7요인) - '실내외시설과 환경'(제1요인) - '교육의 전문성과 연계성'(제5요인) - '교육의 서비스시설'(제6요인) - '교원의 교육적 자질'(제4요인) - '교육자료의 종류와 운영방법'(제3요인) - '교육자료의 기록 및 관리'(제8요인)의 순으로 중요도를 평가하였다. '교육자료의 종류와 운영방법','교원의 교육적 자질' 및 '실내외시설과 환경' 등 보다 더 중요한 교육환경의 요인에 비해서 '외형적 특성'등을 중요하게 생각하고 있어, 교육적인 측면에서의 관심과 배려가 부족한 것으로 나타났다.
셋째, 광주광역시 구역별 유치원 학부모들을 대상으로 한 선택요인의 선호의식에 대한 차이를 비교한 결과 구역별에 따른 차이가 있음이 밝혀졌다. 따라서, 이러한 유아교육기관의 잘못된 선택결정의 의식문제를 해결하기 위해서는 학부모들에 대한 유아교육의 참모습을 이해할 수 있도록 하는 보다 체계적인 교육과 홍보가 필요하다고 판단된다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to find out the parents' preference and decision factors about the choice of kindergarden in Kwangju city. This study focuses on the followings:First, to suvey th main factors to effect the parents' choice of kindergarden; Second, to analyze the correlation between parents' preference and this main factors. Subjects are 675 persons related to the children, and belong to 5 districts(Dong-gu, Seo-gu, Nam-gu, Puk-gu, and Kwangsan-gu) in Kwangju city. Questionnaires are classified into 4 categories; subject's characteristics, general headings of children, items for evaluating importance of kindergarden choice, and subjects needs of kidergarden.
Questionnaires are made for parents and mail survey is conducted. And the result is analyzed the factor analysis and variance analysis using the SPSSWIN program.
The results of this research are as follows;
First, The main factors of the choice of kindergarden consist of 8 factors:
<1. Facilities and environments in the kindergarden>, <2, External characteristics of the kindergarden>, <3, Variety of education materials and operation>, <4, Attitude of teachers>, <5. Professional and connectional education>, <6. Educational service>, <7. Expense and space size>, and <8. Document and management of educational data>.
Second, The importance of choice in the kindergarden are ranked as 'External characteristics of the kindergarden(2)', 'Expense and space size(7)', 'Facilities and environments in the kindergarden(1)', 'Professional and connectional education(5)', 'Educational service(6)', 'Attitude of teachers(4)', 'Professional and connectional education(3)', 'Document and management of educational data(8)'. It is verified that parents are short of the concern and understanding about the education aspects, as to consider more important factor the external characteristics of the kindergarden than the educational aspects.
Third, It is verified to the difference of preference according to the result of compare the preference between 5 districts. Therefore, To solve the mistaken idea of the infant education, it is necessary to the systematic education and public information to the parents for understanding the true sense of education.
