This study investigated the effects of dysfunctional beliefs, negative automatic thoughts and social self-efficacy on speech anxiety.
Dysfunctional Beliefs Test(DBT),Speech Anxiety Automatic Thoughts Questionnaire(SSATQ), Social Self-Efficacy Scale(SSES),Speech Anxiety Scale(SAS), and Social Anxiety and Distress Scale(SADS), were administrated to 353 college students.
The results showed that dysfunctional beliefs and social selt-efficacy influenced speech anxiety by mediating of negative automatic thoughrs.
In addition, pure speech anxiety group had less negative cognition than the other group with social anxiety and speech anxiety.
Finally,clinical implications of the study were discussed in view of cognitive therapy.Limitations of the study and suggestions for future study were also discussed.
