종교적 지향성과 영성적 안녕 및 심리적 안녕간의 관계

국문 초록 (Abstract)

영성 상담자는 종교와 영성 그리고 심리 이 세 분야를 잘 파악하고 다룰 수 있어야 한다고 요구받고 있다. 본 연구에서는 종교를 내재적 종교지향성과 외재적 종교지향성(Allport & Ross, 1967; Gorsuch & McPherson, 1989)으로 나누었고, 영성은 종교적 안녕과 존재적 안녕으로 구성된 영성적 안녕(Paloutzian & Ellison, 1979)으로 정의하였으며, 심리는 자기개념(이훈진과 원호택, 1995), 불안(Beck 등, 1985) 및 우울(Beck, 1967), 그리고 삶 만족도(Neugarten, 1961)로 측정한 심리적 안녕으로 한정하였다.
본 연구는 내재적 및 외재적 종교지향성과 영성적 안녕및 심리적 안녕간의 관계를 밝히는데 주목적이 있다. 내재적 종교지향성은 영성적 안녕과 정적 상관관계가 있을 것이고, 외재적 종교지향성은 심리적 안녕과 정적 상관관계가 있을 것이며, 연령이 증가할수록 내재적-외재적 종교지향성이 높아질 것으로 예언하였다.
대상은 청소년 및 일반성인 476명이었으며, 설문지를 통해 집단 또는 개인별로 조사되었다. 연구 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 종교지향성은 내재적 지향성과 외재적 지향성의 두 개 요인으로 구성되어 있음이 확인되었다. 내재적 종교지향성은 영성적 안녕 및 심리적 안녕과 유의미한 상관관계가 있었고 외재적 종교지향성은 종교적 안녕과는 정적 상관관계가 있었지만 다른 변인과는 유의한 상관 관계가 없었다. 또한 연령이 증가할수록 내재적-외재적 종교지향성이 높아지는 특성이 나타났다. 끝으로 영성 상담에서 종교적 지향성이 갖는 의미를 논의하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to verify the relationships among religious orientation, spiritual wellness, and psychological wellness. There would be positive relationships between intrinsic religious orientation and spiritual wellness and also between spiritual wellness and psychological wellness. And both intrinsic and extrinsic religious orientations would be increased as one ages. 476 participants of teenagers and adults completed Intrinsic/Extrinsic Religious Orientation Scale, spiritual wellness, and psychological wellness questionnaires.
The results are as follows. It has been verified that religious orientation consists of intrinsic and extrinsic measurements. There were positive correlations among intrinsic religious orientation, spiritual wellness, and psychological wellness. The extrinsic religious orientation showed positive relationship with religious wellness, but no relationship was found among other factors. It has been proven from this study that intrinsic and extrinsic orientation increase as one ages.
