    The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships between a mother's attitude toward child rearing and their child's motivation to achieve, to give us a better understanding of student in school.
    The subjects of the study was sampled randomly from among the who go to elementory schools located in Taejon city. Their mothers are graduates from colleage either employed or not.
    The results of this study were as follow:
    The reasonable guidance, affection, achievement, active participation, and consistent restruction show positive correlation to the movie of achievement, otherwise the control shows a negative correlation, the over-guidance has no significant difference.
    There is no relation between mother's attitude toward child rearing and their child's motivation to achieve whether mother has job or not.
