학부모의 유아교육기관 선택시 고려요인 및 만족도에 관한 연구 = A Study on the Parents' Consideration Factors for Choosing Early Childhood Eudcation Institution

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 다음과 같은 연구문제를 알아보고자 하였다.
(1) 자녀의 유아교육기관 선택시 중요하게 교려하는 요인은 무엇인가?
(2) 유아교육기관에 대한 학부모의 만족도는 기관에 따라 어떤 차이가 있는가?
(3) 학부모들은 유아교육기관에 대한 정보를 어디에서 얻는가?
연구대상은 유치원 학부모들로서 대전시에 소재한 공립 유치원 1개, 사립 유치원 1개, 어린이집 1개와 충남 예산군에 소재한 공립 유치원 10개, 사립 유치원 2개, 어린이집 3개에서 453명을 표집하였다. "학부모들의 유치원 선택시 고려 요인 및 만족도에 관한 질문지"를 연구자가 만들어 자료를 수집하여 분석하였다. 본 연구를 통해서 얻는 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 학부모들이 유아교육기관 선택시 중요하게 고려하는 요인은 교육 내용과 방법, 교재·교구의 충실성, 시설·설비의 안전성, 현장학습프로그램인 것으로 나타났다.
둘째, 교사의 학습 지도 능력, 교사가 아동을 대하는 태도, 교육내용과 방법, 안전에 대한 교사의 지도에 대해서는 만족도가 높은 반면 부모요인에 관해서는 만족도가 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 공립 유치원에서는 냉·난방 시설, 현장 체험 학습, 통원 방법, 통원 시간에 대해 만족도가 낮게 나타났고 사립 유치원에서는 교육비 부담액, 간식·급식의 질, 학급당 아동수, 어린이집에서는 교육비 부담액, 학급당 아동수에 대해서 만족도가 낮은 것으로 나타났다.
셋째, 학부모들은 유아교육기관에 대한 정보를 전문가에게 얻기보다는 비전문가인 유아교육기관 졸업생 학부모나 재학생 학부모, 이웃 사람 등으로부터 주로 얻는 것으로 나타났다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to examine the factors that parents considered importantly when they chose educational institutions for their children. The research questions of the study were as follows:
1) What were the important factors to be considered when parents chose early childhood educational institutions for their children?
2) How different were parents' satisfaction degrees according to educational institutions for preschoolers?
3) Where did the parents get information about early childhood educational institutions for their children?
To investigate the research questions, 453 of parents from 1 public kindergarten, 1 private kindergarten and 1 children's home in Daejeon, and parents from 10 public kindergartens, 2 private kindergartens and 3 children's home in the area of Choongnam Yesangun were sampled. Questionnaire developed by the present researcher was administered to the parents to collect data. The major findings of this study were as follows:
First, it was found that the factors to be considered important by parents when they chose educational institutions for preschoolers were educational contents and method, teaching materials, stability of facilities and field curriculums.
Second, parents showed high satisfaction degrees of teachers' teaching ability, teachers' attitude toward children and teachers' guide about safety. However, they were not satisfied with air conditioning facilities, and time and distance of attending kindergartens for public kindergartens. Also they showed low satisfaction degrees of educational expenses, quality of meals and snacks, and the number of children in a class for private kindergartens. For children's home, they showed low satisfaction degrees of educational expenses and the number of children in a class.
Third, it was found that parents usually got information about early childhood educational institutions from laymen such as parents of currently enrolled children or neighbors than from specialists.
