The Financial system has changed drastically due to the Internet revolution. However, In recent years, with the appearance of the Wireless internet, the technology of mobile communication is developing rapidly and is transforming conventional method of financial services.
The changes, include a significant increase in the number of multi-channels available for delivery of the services. The most recent significant delivery channel introduced for financial services is Mobile banking.
The objective of this paper is to explain the concept of Mobile banking and the present conditions of domestic and international financial services by mobile, and to show the activate method of Mobile banking.
Mobile banking provides convenient and personal financial services beyond time and space. It involves customers who desire to access their banks and accounts. Basically, customers can perform banking services directly through their mobile phones while they are on the move without having to visit a bank. Accordingly, banks have to make competitive offers to their customers to satisfy their variable needs.
Today, despite the enormous challenges still to be overcome, domestic and international banks are not giving up on Mobile banking. It will be an important market in the near future. However, it will not develop as quickly as originally thought. In addition, most of banks tend to provide Mobile banking services as a supplementary method of Internet banking. Mobile banking services, however, are quite different from other baking services.
The Mobile phone by contrast with other channels such as a phone, ATM, or a PC are generally personal devices. People carry their phones with them all of the time and don't share them with others. This makes them a good platform for financial services.
The strongest point of the Mobile banking service is, among others, its high speed data transmission, lower usage fee and heightened security system. Therefore, Personal Computers, despite their power and functionality, are not necessarily the best platform for the delivery of financial services.
Finally, banks have to understand the point of Mobile banking services and should clearly define their Wireless strategy.
In order to offer Mobile banking services, banks have to support dozens of phone and terminals, as well as support variations in protocols and browsers such as Wireless the Application Protocol, Mobile Explore and i-Mode.
Wireless security is not end-to end yet, nor is it streamlined. Authorization is still an issue and network operators are still trying to wall off customers from other service providers. In particular, security is considered to be the most crucial point in the adaption of Mobile banking by non-users. Therefore, banks must establish ultra high speed networks and infrastructure, and enhance a level of security to reduce fears of Mobile banking from customers.
Presently, Financial markets are being moved from banks to customers. Mobile banking is expected to grow at a surprising speed because of its accessibility unrestricted by location, diverse media contents and device development. Banks need to enhance their quality services and make corresponding products for customers to fully develope mobile banking capabilities.
