    This study began with the hypothesis that there will be a positive effect on the mathematics achievement of students if they have studied mathematics by the integrated math activities based upon picture book. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to verify effectiveness of the integrated mathematics based upon the picture books.
    To verify this effectiveness of this model two groups were selected from kindergartens.
    Group A, the experimental group, consisted of young children who learned mathematics by the integrated learning method through the picture books with their teacher.
    Group B, the comparison one, consisted of young children who studied mathematics without the teacher's assistance at the reading corner of their class. There are books concerned with mathematical conception.

    Is there any difference in the mathematical achievement, the integrated learning through picture books according to their ages?

    Is there any difference in the mathematical achievement, the integrated learning through picture books between male and female?
    This study set hypotheses for each research problem and performed experiments to verify them. The subjects of the test, who were 3, 4, 5 years old, were 110 children who were selected from two kindergartens located in Gunsan(experimental group: 55, comparison group : 55). There were no difference in the ages, local character and teacher's career. Therefore the two groups were identical.
    The children in the two groups involved in the experiment were made to study mathematics for seven weeks at kindergarten in different ways.
    The result of this experimental treatment was checked by one test given to the children in both groups after the experiment. this test was a mathematical achievement test. The data gains from the research was analyzed using a SPSS computer program.
    The main discoveries made in this study are as followings;
    1. The experimental group's scores were higher than the comparison group's in mathematical achievement, for three years old children. The finding of this study suggest that three years old young children's mathematics abilities increased through integrated math-activities through picture books.
    2. There was no difference by the sex of children. the conclusions of this study were to develop young children's abilities was effective the integrated math-activities through picture books, and this activities were effective to both boys and girls.
