初等學校에서의 心理檢査 活用實態에 관한 硏究 = A study on the actual situations of psychological test in elementary school

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 초등학교 심리검사의 실태와 활용에 관한 교사의 인식을 연구하여 초등학교에서 효율적으로 심리검사를 실시하고 그 결과를 활용할 수 있는 방안을 모색하는 데 필요한 기초자료를 제공하기 위해 시도되었다. 광주, 전남 지역에 근무하는 교사 157명을 대상으로 심리검사의 실시와 활용 실태를 조사 수행하였으며, 이 자료를 바탕으로 초등학교에서의 심리검사의 실시와 활용에 관한 실태와 그에 관한 교사의 인식을 분석하였다. 질문지는 선행연구자들의 질문지를 참고로 하여 자체 제작하였다.
본 연구에서 나타난 초등학교 심리검사에 대한 교사들의 인식과 실시 및 활용 실태는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 소재지별 요인에 따라 심리검사의 실시여부와 심리검사에 관하여 인식하고 있는 정도에 약간의 차이가 있었다. 전반적으로는 초등학교 교사들의 심리검사에 관한 인지도는 낮은 수준에 머무르고 있는 것으로 나타났는데 일선학교에서 심리검사를 실시할 때 교육청이나 학교의 교육과정 운영계획에 의한 것이 아닌 교사 자율적인 필요에 의한 심리검사를 실시할 수 있는 분위기가 조성될 필요가 있다.
둘째, 교사들의 심리검사에 관련한 정보 습득 면에서 대부분의 교사들은 심리검사와 관련한 정보의 습득을 심리검사 출판사에서 배부한 심리검사 요강에 의존하고 있다고 응답하였다.
셋째, 심리검사 결과를 응답자의 대부분(87.3%)이 아동에게 알려주는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 심리검사의 결과를 아동 본인에게 알려준다는 면에서는 긍정적으로 해석될 수 있다.
그러나 심리검사의 결과를 알려줄 때에 출판사에서 일괄적으로 처리된 검사 결과지를 단순히 전달하는 식으로 아동에게 나눠주는 방법으로는 아동과 교사가 모두 만족할 만한 결과를 기대할 수가 없을 것이다.
넷째, 심리검사 도구 활용의 주된 문제점으로 검사의 신뢰도 및 타당도가 의심된다가 49.7%, 검사 결과의 해석이 어렵다고 응답도 23.5%에 이르렀다.
다섯째, 심리검사를 실시하는 이유로 아동지도 자료로 활용하는 경우가 높았다. 이것은 심리검사의 결과를 교육현장에서 교육적으로 활용하는 빈도가 높은 것으로 나타난다는 점에서 긍정적으로 해석된다.
이상의 연구 결과를 토대로 일선 초등학교 교사들이 심리검사를 잘 활용하여 아동지도를 잘 할 수 있는 심리검사의 방향에 대하여 제언하였다.
첫째, 교사들이 심리검사제도와 그 결과의 활용에 대한 인식이 변화되어야 한다.
초등학교에서 실시하고 있는 심리검사제도가 일과성의 형식적인 검사로 끝나지 않도록 체계적인 활용 계획을 수립하여 적극적으로 활용할 수 있도록 해야하며, 그와 더불어 교사들이 심리검사에 대한 연수프로그램에 자발적으로 참여하여 심리검사 제도와 그 활용에 대한 올바른 시각이 먼저 선행되어 아동 교육에 있어서 심리검사의 활용의 중요성을 교사 자신이 먼저 인식하고 다양한 활용방안을 모색해야 한다.
둘째, 심리검사 실시에 있어서 교사의 자율성을 인정해 주어야 한다.
심리검사지와 검사의 실시 시기를 교사들이 필요에 의해서 선택할 수 있도록 여건을 조성해준다면 심리검사는 보다 효율적으로 실시되고 활용될 것이다.
셋째, 심리검사 실시에 있어서 다양한 방법이 도입되어야 한다.
넷째, 학교 교육환경의 개선으로 교사들이 심리검사를 실시하는데 부담을 갖지 않도록 많은 시간을 투입할 수 있는 여건을 조성해 주어야 한다.
