    This study is designed to make an analysis of the actual state of elementary school teachers' counseling activities and to offer materials for improvement. With this in mind, the researcher came up with the following four research questions including how their recognition of counseling activities are and the aspects of counseling activities and what obstructing factors and remedies are. The researcher worked with elementary school master, superintendents, male and female teachers in consideration of the location and size of schools in Suncheon area with the help of 8-province questionnaires.
    The subjects are well aware of the necessity of counseling activities, stopping short of proper counseling activities due to excessive workload and for lack of understanding. The researcher came to the conclusion that it is necessary to give teachers administrative, systematic support requiring teachers to take counseling-related lectures and to have experts on counseling in school.
