중학생의 가사노동에 대한 의식 및 참여도에 관한 연구 = A study on middle school student's consciousness and participation of household work.

Household work, which is essential to family life, makes it possible for the family unit not only to perform its functions but also to provide the family welfare.
The urbanization and industrialization has impact on the family structure and the traditional way of life. Today a male also should take active part in the household work of which a female has charged one day keeping pace with social change.
The major purpose of this study is to investigate the middle school students' consciousness and their participation of household work.
The study also supplies of basic data for the middle school students' home education to get a desirable family life through the investigation into their household work participation degree and its character and through the detection in its influencing factor.
For this study, the research questions are described as follows.
1. How is the middle school students' consciousness and their participation of household work ?
2. According to the household environmental variables, is there any significant difference in the middle school students' consciousness and their participation of household work ?
3. According to the school environmental variables, is there any significant difference in the middle school students' consciousness and their participation of household work ?
4. According to the degree of family life satisfaction, is there any significant difference in the middle school students' consciousness and their participation of household work ?
5. According to the degree of Home Economics course cognition, is there any significant difference in the middle school students' consciousness and their participation of household work ?
6. Is there any significant correlation between the middle school students' consciousness and their participation of household work ?
This study was made on from the 14th of June t o the 6th of July 1999. The participants were 540 middle school students but the final data used in this study was 489.
For the statistical analysis of this study, frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, Cronbach's a coefficient, one way ANOVA, t-test, Duncan's Multiple Range Test and Pearson's correlation were calculated.
The results of this study are summarized as follows;
1. It was appeared that the middle school students' consciousness and their participation of household work was high.
2. According to the household environmental variables, there was not any significant difference in the middle school students' consciousness of household work, but there was significant difference in the middle school student's participation of household work as follows.
(1) In categories of clothing : the age of parent, mother's business, father's participation in house work, house style,
(2) In categories of food : mother's business, father's participation in house work,
(3) In categories of shelter : the age of father, mother's business, father's participation in house work, house style, institution and equipment of kitchen,
(4) In categories of taking care of family : the age of mother, father's participation in house work, institution and equipment of kitchen.
3. According to the school environmental variables, there was not any significant difference in the middle school students' consciousness of household work, but there was significant difference in the middle school students' participation of household work as follows.
(1) In categories of clothing and food : sex distinction,
(2) In categories of taking care of family : the school year,
4. According to the degree of family life satisfaction, there was significant difference both in the middle school students' consciousness and in their participation of household work in whole categories.
5. According to the degree of Home Economics course cognition, there was significant difference both in the middle school students' consciousness and in their participation of household work in whole categories.
6. Positive correlation was showed between the middle school students' consciousness and their participation of household work.
