This research is intended to study how much problematic behaviors of juveniles are influenced by the communication pattern between parents and children and also intended to improve quality of parents-children relationship, which can ultimately lead to the prevention of problematic behaviors.
Sample subjects for this research are middle school students in Taegu area and test method is questionnaire. Data analysis was conducted by reliability analysis, factor analysis, descriptive statistics, regression analysis, ANOVA, Scheffe test, and etc. Result of this research and its conclusion is as following.
First, father-children communication pattern and problematic behaviors is inversely related. Father-children communication pattern affects problematic behaviors to the great extent. So to speak, juveniles active communication with their fathers means less problematic behaviors.
Second, the more malfunctional communication that causes ill effect between father and children, the more problematic behaviors, contrarily, more open communication means less problematic behaviors.
Third, mother-children communication pattern and problematic behaviors is directly related, which is that Mother-children communication pattern also affects problematic behaviors to the great extent. So to speak, juveniles active communication with their mothers means less problematic behaviors.
Fourth, the more malfunctional communication that causes ill effect between mother and children, the more problematic behaviors, contrarily, more open communication means less problematic behaviors.
Fifth, in order to measure the influence of one s problematic behaviors on others problematic behaviors, simple regression analysis was conducted.
The result was that a juvenile with more friends experiencing problematic behaviors have more problematic behaviors.
Sixth, juveniles problematic behaviors according to general characteristic variables depend meaningfully on the number of brothers and sisters, age of mother, performance at the school, and school life.
The sample subjects for this research is limited to middle school students in Taegu area, therefore, it will be against reality for generalization based on this research. Additionally, the subject of this research is only for children, so further research on parents will be required.
