This research is aimed at studying the direction of more effective inclusion education by comparison and analyzing the attitudes to the reception of handicapped children between inclusive class and non-inclusive class in elementary school.
For the purpose of the study, 340 copies of questionaire - each 170 copies for the normal children in non-inclusive class and the normal children in inclusive class - were distributed to the children in Seoul during May 2002. Out of 340 copies of questionaire, 320 copies were answered but 10 copies were excluded due to insincerity. In the end, 310 copies were used for the analysis. By using SPSS program, we analyzed the questions answered according to the experience of inclusive class, sex, grades.
    The findings are as follows:
First, comparison of normal class children's attitudes to reception of the handicapped children depending on experience of inclusive class. In the fields of recognition and activities, there were no significant interactions statistically between inclusive and non-inclusive class. In the fields of acceptance, there were significant interactions statistically between inclusive and non-inclusive class.
Second, comparison of normal class children's attitudes to reception of the handicapped children depending on sex. In the fields of recognition and activities, there were no significant interactions statistically between male and female. In the fields of acceptance, there were significant interactions statistically between male and female.
Third, comparison of normal class children's attitudes to reception of the handicapped children depending on grades. In the fields of recognition and activities, there were significant interactions statistically between senior grades and junior grades. It means that junior grades showed more affirmative attitudes than senior grades in the fields of recognition. In the fields of acceptance, there were significant interactions statistically between senior grades and junior grades. On the contrary, senior grades showed more affirmative attitudes than junior grades in the fields of acceptance.
On the basis of the mentioned conclusions, comparison of normal class children's attitudes to reception of the handicapped children depending on grades showed significant affirmative attitudes statistically in the field of recognition, activities, acceptance.
There were not significant interactions statistically between male and female. They showed significant affirmative attitudes statistically just in the field of acceptance under the influence of inclusive class on the normal children.
