상담에 대한 기대감과 성별, 특성, 문제유형의 관계연구 = (A) STUDY OF EXPECTATIONS ABOUT COUNSELING BY ANALYSES OF SEX, CHARACTERISTICS AND TYPES OF PROBLEMS

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 내담자가 갖게되는 상담에 대한 기대감을 파악하여 효과적인 상담과정과 상담결과를 얻는데에 도움을 주기 위한 것이다.
내담자의 태도와 행동, 상담자의 태도와 행동, 상담자 특성, 과정육성과 상담효과등 5개요인의 17개 변인에서 피험자의 성별, 사회성, 자아 판단력, 상담을 원하는 문제유형, 선호하는 상담자의 성별에 의한 상담에 대한 기대를 분석하였다.
본 연구에서 제기된 문제는 다음과 같다.
1. 내담자의 성별, 사회성 유형 및 자아 판단력에 따라 상담에 대한 기대감이 다른가.
2. 내담자의 성별과 문제유형이 상담에 대한 기대감을 설명하는데 어느 정도의 예측력을 가질 것인가.
3. 내담자의 학년과 문제유형이 상담에 대한 기대감을 설명하는데 어느 정도의 예측력을 가질 것인가.
4. 상담자의 성별과 피험자의 사회성 정도가 상담에 대한 기대감을 설명하는데 어느 정도의 예측력을 가질 것인가.
Tinsley. H.E.(1980)의 "내담자의 상담에 대한 기대감 평가"질문지와, 피험자 특성을 분류하기 위한 '성격검사" "MMPI", "자아판단력 검사", 보충질문지를 실시한 후 t-test, ANOVA, 백분율점수로 결과를 처리했다.
결과를 보면 피험자의 성별과 사회성의 정도, 선호하는 상담자의 성별에 의해 상담에 대한 기대에 차이가 있음을 알 수 있었다. 여성 피험자들은 남성 피험자들보다 동기, 솔직성, 신뢰성, 구체성, 상담효과에 대하여 상담에 대한 기대를 크게 나타냈고, 사회적으로 내향성을 지닌 사람이 외향적인 사람들보다 상담에 있어서 공감각적 이해를 받기 원하고 신뢰성을 중히 여기며 상담효과에 대해더 큰 기대를 한다고 밝혀졌다. 또, 상담자의 성별이 피험자의 사회성 정도와 동시에 상담에 대한 기대감에 차를 가져옴을 알 수 있었다.
본 연구는 내담자의 특성을 상담에 대한 기대감과 연결시켰다는데 의의가 있으며, 기대의 연구가 미흡한 상태에서, 보다 효과적인 상담과정과 결과를 얻기 위한 내담자의 기대파악을 위해 실시된 것이다. 실제 상담에서 본 연구가 조금이나마 보탬이 되기를 바라며 상담에 대한 기대를 내담자의 특성과 연결시키는 후속 연구를 기대한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to know the expectations about counseling for better counseling process and outcome. In this study, I analized expectations about counseling through client sex, counselor sex, sociality, self-criticism, types of problem. Expectations abut counseling is composed of five factors: client attitudes and behaviors, counselor attitudes and behaviors, counselor characteristics, characteristics of process, Quality of outcome.
Issues proposed in this study are as follows:
I. Whether expectations of participating clients would be different from one another, according to their sex, sociality, self-criticism?
II. What predictions the expectations show to us when they are associated with client sex and types of problem.
III. What predictions the expectations show to us when they are associated with school year and types of problem.
IV. What predictions the expectations show to us when they are associated with counselor's sex and client's sociality.
As a tool, Tinsley's "Expectations about counseling" were used, and concerned with catagolizing client's characteristics, "MMPI", "Personality test", "self-criticism test", ''complementary questionnaire" was also used. t-test, ANOVA, and percentages are used in this research.
Consequently, from the classification of characteristics according to sex, sociality, some significant difference were shown in the expectations about counseling. Female clients were appeared to have higher expectations in five variables: driveness, genuiness, trustworthiness, concreteness, and outcome. And introversional clients were appeared to have higher expectations than extraversion in three variables: empathy, trustworthiness and outcome. Interaction effect by counselor's sex and client sociality were appeared about counseling expectancy factor.
The point that this study was started from an attempt to provide some more useful knowledge for counseling processes and outcomes beyond present limits of receeding studies which lack certain deeper investigation into expectations of clients having different personalities and different charactreistics should be evaluated to be valuable. It is anticipated now that this study would afford some things of meaningfulness to practical and actual operations of every counseling, and that this would be followed by furthur studies which connect clients' expectations about counseling with the characteristics of them.
