    The purpose of this study analyzes factors which have an effect on reading and writing through letter that the partially-sighted students use surviving sight, and clear up that condition.
    The subjects for this study are 30 persons of boy-students in partially-sighted class of Y high school in Seoul and 30 persons who are chosen randomly of boy-students in general class of the same school.
    In measuring instruments, measurement for type size in the type for a photo typesetting in which printed sentence was used successively by the size from 11 point to 15 point, measurement for lean of a table side used the table which was made specially measurement for reading speed or writing speed used to magnify the testing papers for a sham examination to enter the college, and speed of changing correct answer used OMR (an optical mark instrument for interpretation) paper which in for grading of a computer. Besides, using method and observation method for the questions were also used.
    Results for this study are as follows:
    1. Under the normal intensity of illumination due to the sight of partially sighted students, 90% of partially sighted students responded to be satisfied with a method which mixed the method for a whole intersity of illumination and the method for a part intersity of illumination, and in a dgree of satisfaction for a lamp, 66.7% of partially sighted students responded to be satisfied with a fluorescent lamp. At this time, the average time at which partially sighted students can read delightfully was for one hour twenty minites, and the reason which was difficult to keep up reading was due to a sharp pain of eyes.
    2. In case of Ming-style printingtype of Korean, the normal type size for partially sighted students has to be considered volume of books or speed of writing, and when it is analyzed from the size of 11 point to that of 34 point, it is the size of 16 point that a majority of partially sighted students can see. And there was a relation of 52 between sight and type size.
    3. When partially sighted students read, an average angle which is produced by the upper part of their body and distance with a book is about 29.7 degrees, and an average angle for distance with a book which is comfortable to read is about 40.3 degrees. At this time, an average distance of reading is about 7.9cm. Therefore, the lean for distance with a book will have to produce and plan to be possible for control from 0 degree to 50 degrees.
    4. According to measuring the normal distance from a blackboard for partially sighted students, their seats have to arrange distance of average 2.1 meters from a blackboard. This is distance within second line in front of class.
    5. According to comparing speed of reading for partially sighted students with that of general students by a course of study, partially sighted students more require times which are from the lowest 1.3 times to the highest 1.8 times and the average 1.58 times than general students in reading by a course of study.
    6. According to comparing speed of writing for partially sighted students with that of general students by a course of study, partially sighted students more require times which are from the lowest 1.5 times to the highest 2.2 times and the average 1.7 times than general students in writing by a course of study.
    7. According to compasing speed of changing correct answer to the examination for partially sighted students with that of general students, partially sighted students more require times which are 1.6 times than general students.
    8. According to synthesizing speed of reading, writing and changing correct answer to the examination paper, partially sighted students more require to be alloted times which are from the lower 1.4 times to the highest 1.8 times and the average 1.6 time than gereral students in times of allotment or allotment for the times of all kinds of examinations by a course of study.
