부부의 성역할태도에 따른 결혼만족도 연구 = (A) Study on Marital Satisfaction According to Sex-Role Attitude

The purpose of this study is to examine relations between sex-role attitude of the married and marital satisfaction. This study is investigated the degree of marital satisfaction of husbands or that of wives according to husband's sex-role attitude or that of wife. The marital satisfaction of husbands or that of wives according to the types of marital sex-role attitude are also analyzed. This study is also examined the effects of education level, wife's having a job or not, having children or not and family life cycle on relations between sex role attitude of the married and marital satisfaction.
The subjects of this study are newly married couples and the married whose oldest child is in pre-school age. A total of 113 couples who dwell in Seoul answered the questionnaires. For the statistical analysis of data, Pearson's r, t-test, Two-way ANOVA are performed.
The results of this study are summarized as follows.
1. The marital satisfaction of hasbands or that of wives according to husband's sex role attitude is different significantly; both husbands and wives have more marital satisfaction when husbands have modern sex-role attitude than when they have traditional sex-role attitude.
2. There is no significant difference in the marital satisfaction of husbands o r that of wives according to wife's sex-role attitude.
3. The marital satisfaction of husbands or that of wives doesn't have significant differences according to the types of marital sex-role attitude.
4. The interaction effect between education level, wife's having a job or not, having children or not, family life cycle and sex-role attitude is not achieved. That is, these variables don't have on significant effect on relations between sex-role attitude of the married and marital satisfaction.
The results of this study suggest that change of husband's role is necessary to improve marital satisfaction because husbands' sex-role attitude have the more effect on marital satisfaction than that of wives for young couples.
