學父母의 幼兒敎育機關 選澤 決定要因에 關한 硏究 = (A) Study on the parental preference and decision factors in the selection of educational institutes for young children

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The study was aimed to see what factors were considered when parents of young children chose educational institutes between kindergartens and child care centers for their children's education, and to analyse the parental preference and decision factors in the selection of educational institutes for young children in Gwang-ju area.
The results of this study are as following:
First, the decision factors on the selection between kindergartens and child care centers are as following:
1. the factors of a classroom environment
2. the factors of outside a classroom environment
3. the activities and contents
4. the quality of teachers
5. the parents education
6. the actual condition of management
by educational institutes for young children.
Second, the order of priority of decision factors in the choice of kindergarten and child care center is as following:
In the kindergarten, the order of priority is as following: 1. a classroom environment, 2. outside a classroom environment and the quality of teachers, 3. the activities and contents, 4. the parents education, 5. the actual condition of management.
In the child care center, the order of priority is as following: 1. a classroom environment 2. outside a classroom environment, 3. the quality of teachers, 4. the activities and contents, 5. the actual condition of management, 6. the parents education.
Third, what is most important factor in the choice of educational institutes for young children is a classroom environment. But, it makes little difference between the two groups.
From the results, it was found that of this study are generally in accord with the results of "A Study on the Parent's Preference and Decision Factors in the Choice of kindergarten"(Lee Gun joo, 1988).
On the order of priority, what is the most important factor in the choice of kindergarten in the precedence is "external characteristics" but what is the most important factor in the choice of educational institutes for young children-kindergarten and child care center- in this study is "a classroom environment".
