尹東柱 硏究 = (A) Study on Dong-Ju Yeun

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This thesis aims to study on attaching importance to the historical consciousness about the poems of Dong-Ju Youn.
It was studied that how his poems was appear with some form, under his historical consciousness and such realistic postulate in the special status under the rule of Japanese imperialism.
This work is necessary to study and to interpretate closely about his biographical fact and his literary wanderings where his poem is borm.
In the poems of this study period, form the realization for the darkness of re□□□ ity interrupting the yearning and desire he over came the conflict of shame of a poem, "Heaven and wind and star and a poem". And the world of his poem was based on the historical consciousness to set up the position toward "the new age".
Even in 35 pieces of child poems which was excepted in his thesis up to the preset, he emphasized greatly on the conflict of the darkness of reality, Especially, it is important fact that his child poems, which were reorganized his childish experiences was attempted to describe the emotional experiences of reality of a colony and the agony of a losing people, and consist of the emotional unity.
He had a resistantce consciousness of life because of his growth odor the surroundings of national consciousness.
Nevertheless a few Dong-Ju Yeun's poems indicate directhy the resistance spirit. So to speak, we can find that any poems of Dong-Ju Yeun were not disiussed about the resistance consciousness of Japanese imperialism.
His resistance consciousness was precipated into the internal world through the poem and rised into reality. Finally it was appeared as the aesthetical element.
And then his poems always stands on the resistance spirit in the bottom of the consciousness, not to express the emotion previously. Such a resistance spirit of Dong-Ju Yeun was overcame the troubles and the compassion about the self from the consciousness of shame. And it was indicated the development with the consciousness of the royal summons of the actuality and the nation. We can find that in his poem "The Cross", he show to us the spirit of sacrifice to adapt the age and the history. It was origined from such the consciousness of the royal summons.
And his christian world view also has the resistance spirit on the other hand.
In the darken actuality of the Japanese imperialism he shows his attitude of the res cue to abstract the resistance about the nation.
As for Dong-Ju founts poems, as a result of insight the age and the actuality of nation, it appears the skepticism and the consciousness of sin about the self-consciousness.
His attitude that wait for "the Morning That Will Come As The Age", namely means his spirit of resistance to be over come the consciousness of sin about the historical actuality and the nation.
His historical consciousness was appeared as a self-consciousness about the nation under the Japanese Imperialism. This self-consciousness about the nation made a start the resistance against the Japanese-Imperialism. In other hand 1it makes the national unity and the sense of union.
His "Sad Species" and "The Poem That Written Easily shows the will toward the new age and the unity of national spirit. And then the historical consciousness of Dong-Ju Yeun means the resistance against the Japanese Imperialism, not to lost the national self-consciousness, to make the spiritual unity.
Dong-Joo Yeun died at the age of 29. He had a tragic life, leading the theory of resistance intenally. And his death at prison in the enemy country, Japan, corresponds to his resistance life and literary meaning. From this point of view, Dong-Joo, Yeun was a resistant poet who conquered the crisis of absense of nationalistic literary at the and of Japanese imperialism. Therefore we can find easily that his poem, "Heaven, Wind, Stars and Poems" is the important poem, conquering the Korean reality and leading the folk spirit through the Korean literary and native language in "dark age"
