The purpose of this study was to find out effect of participation in dance sports on the inerpersonal relation and the develpment of sociality. 346 students were selected as sujects who pariticipated in dance sports in Deajeon city. For this study, Interpersonal Relation Questionnaire(IRQ) and Sociality Questionnaire(SQ) were used to determine the levels of participation, interpersonal reation, sociality, and particpation agaents demonstrated by the subjects. To analyze the dat collected, descricipation agents one-way(two and three-way)ANOVA, and Multiple regression analysis were performed.
The major findings of this study were as follow;
1. There were significant differences in the role orientation of the interpersonal relation based on the frequency of participation. The result implied that participants who report higher levels of participation in dance sports devlop higher dominance over individual or group. This study, also, showed that higher intensity of participation may develop higher social relation orientation and expression orientation.
2. This study revealed that longer duration of participation in dance sports may devlop higher independence of paritcipants. This result suggested that longer duration of Participation may give participants a higher level of self-esteem and coping-skills.
3. It was revealed that participants who were influenced by friends of all participation agents shower high level of social reation orientation. The participants who were influenced by mass media/ imternet showed high level of expression orientation.
4. The participants who were influenced by friends of all agents showed the highest level of sociability.
