민주적인 양육방식, 자아존중의식 및 타인존중의식과 도덕성의 관련성 = (A) Study on the relationships between childrearing, self-respect, altruism and morality

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문은 도덕성 회복이 사회적인 분위기로 볼 때 매우 시급하다는 문제인식하에 가정에서의 인성교육과 민주적인 양육방식을 통하여 도덕성을 강화할 수 있는 가능성이 있는지를 확인하고자 하였다. 즉, 가정의 민주적인 양육방식의 정도에 따라 인성의 자아존중의식과 타인존중의식의 정도가 달라지고, 가정에서의 민주적인 양육방식의 정도는 인성의 자아존중의식과 타인존중의식에 영향을 끼칠 것인지, 또한 인성의 자아존중의식과 타아존중의식의 정도에 따라 도덕성의 정도도 달라지는지, 인성의 자아존중의식과 타인존중의식의 정도는 도덕성에 어느 정도 영향을 미치는지를 알아보고자 함에 그 목적을 두고 있다. 이러한 연구 목적을 바탕으로 하여 다음과 같은 연구문제를 설정하였다.
첫째, 가정의 민주적인 양육방식은 아동의 자아존중의식과 타인존중의식에 영향을 줄 것인가?
둘째, 아동의 자아존중의식, 타인존중의식은 모두 도덕성에 영향을 미칠것인가?
위의 문제를 해결하기 위하여 본 연구는 강원도 춘천시에 소재하고 있는 5개 학교를 임의표집하였으며, 676명(남:352, 여:324)을 대상 인원으로 하였다. 연구분석을 위하여 가정의 민주적인 양육방식의 정도와 인성교육의 정도, 그리고 인성교육의 정도와 도덕성의 상관성에 대해서는 Pearson'r을 사용하였다. 가정의 민주적인 양육방식의 정도가 인성교육에 미치는 영향, 그리고 인성이 도덕성에 미치는 영향을 알기 위해서는 중다회귀분석을 사용하였다.
이와 같은 연구 분석을 통하여 얻은 결과는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 민주적인 양육방식과 인성간에는 통계적으로 유의한 정적인 관계(r=.269, p<.01)를 나타남으로써, 민주적인 양육방식을 취할수록 인성의 수준과 자아존중의식, 타인존중의식이 높아짐을 알 수 있었다. 특히, 양육방식의 애정요인과 자아존중의식의 자기표현요인(r=.222, p<.01)이, 그리고 양육방식의 수용요인과 타인존중의식의 배려요인이 높은 상관성(r=.187, p<.01)을 보였다.
둘째, 민주적인 양육방식은 인성에 정적인 영향(β=.269, t=7.264, p<.01)을 끼쳤다. 특히, 민주적인 양육방식의 하위요인인 애정, 수용, 문제해결이 인성에 정적인 영향을 끼쳤음을 알 수 있었다.
셋째, 인성의 자아존중의식, 타인존중의식과 도덕성간에는 통계적으로 유의한 정적인 관계(인성과 도덕성:r=.598, p<.01 자아존중의식과 도덕성:r=.554, p<.01 타인존중의식과 도덕성:r=.557, p<.01)를 나타냄으로써, 자아존중의식과 타인존중의식이 높을수록 도덕성이 높아짐을 알 수 있었다. 특히 상관성이 높은 인성과 도덕성은 자신감과 근면ㆍ성실, 권위존중과 근면ㆍ성실, 자아통제와 기본예절, 권위존중과 효도, 자기표현과 정의감, 권위존중과 공익으로 나타났다. 또한 자아존중의식의 자아통제와 타인존중의식의 권위존중이 도덕성과 높은 상관을 보여 주었다.
넷째, 인성의 자아존중의식과 타인존중의식은 도덕성에 정적인 영향(β=.598, t=19.345, p<.01)을 끼쳤다. 특히 자아존중의식의 영향이 타인존중의식의 영향보다 크게 나타났으며, 자아존중의식의 하위요인 중에서는 자기통제와 자신감이 도덕성에 정적이 영향을 주었고, 타인존중의식의 하위요인 중에서는 배려, 권위존중, 신뢰, 타인사랑이 도덕성에 정적인 영향을 주었음을 알 수 있었다. 상대적으로 도덕성에 큰 영향을 끼친 요인은 자기통제임을 알 수 있었다.
위의 결과를 분석한 결론으로는, 자신을 존중하고 동시에 다른 사람을 존중하기 위해서는 가정의 민주적인 양육방식이 필요하다. 이러한 가정의 민주적인 양육방식은 학교교육을 통한 인성교육 프로그��장기적인 대안의 교육과정 편성이 요구된다. 하지만, 현 사회의 특성상 맞벌이 부부의 증가로 인한 방임, 익애적인 양육방식의 정도에 대한 연구도 해 볼 가치가 있다고 사료된다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study was to examine if the democratic education could contribute to the development of childrens.
The study begins with a couple of basic research questions. The first is whether democratic personality education affects children's self-esteem and altruism. The study was also to find out whether the self-esteem and altruistic mind children's morality.
To answer the quetions, the study specifies the following research problems.
First, will the degree of self-esteem and altruistic consciousness of humanity education be higher as the degree of democratic way of bringing up at home is higher?
Second, will the democratical way of bringing up at home affect humanity education?
Third, will the degree of morality also be higher as the degree of self-esteem and altruistic consciousness of humanity education is higher?
Fourth, will the degree of democratic way of bringing up, self-esteem and altruistic consciousness are all affect a morality?
To answer the above questions, the researcher selected 676 students-352male:324female-of 5 schools at random in Chun-Cheon area.
The conclusions of this study are as follows:
First, the study illustrates a positive correlation between the democratic way of bringing up and humanity education, thus the degree of self-esteem and altruistic consciousness of humanity education become higher as the degree of democratic way of bringing up become higher.
Especially, way of bringing up of affection factor, self-expression factor of self-esteem, and way of bringing up of acceptance factor, consideration factor of altruistic consiciousness were shown to be the most correlative.
Second, democratic way of bringing up positively affected a humanity education.
Especially, a sub-factor of democratic way of bringing up-affection, acceptance, problem solving-positively affected a humanity education.
Third, there is significant relationship between self-esteem and altruistic mind-set and the level of morality. It means that the level of morality goes higher as self-esteem and altruistic consciousness become higher.
Especially, highly correlative humanity and morality came out as self-confidence and diligence, authority respect and diligence, self-control and basic courtesy, authority respect and filial duty, self-expression and a sense of justice, authority respect and public benefit.
Also, self-control of self-esteem and authority respect of altruistic consciousness were shown to be the highest correlation with morality.
Fourth, self-esteem and altruistic consciousness of humanity education positively affected a morality.
Especially, the influence of self-esteem was more important than that of altruistic consciousness.
Among the sub-factor of self-esteem, self-control and self-confidence positively affected a morality. among the sub-factor of altruistic consciousness, consideration, authority respect, trust, altruism positively affected a morality.
Relatively, the most influential factor that affected a morality was self-control.
