Job stress has been related to measures of organizational effectiveness such as absenteeism, turnover, job dissatisfaction, organizational commitment and low productivity. Additionally, it has been implicated in the etiology of pathological dysfunctions such as psychosomatic complaints and coronary heart disease.
The purpose of this study was how to effectively manage, job stress of flight attendants with analyzing factors of job stress and relationship of organizational commitment.
To achieve the purpose of this study investigated the effect of the flight attendant's job stressors, social support and coping strategies of job-related stress on their organizational commitment.
The data for the study was collected from survey questionnaires and statistical methodlogies used the frequency, factor, t-test, one-way ANOVA, multiple regression and intermediate regression analysis.
The results of this study through aforementioned data analysis as follows
First, the most stressful factors are known as a right about the flight-schedule, performance appraisal and personnel policy.
Second, the flight attendant's job streesors, social support coping strategies and organizational commitment varies according to demographic characteristics.
third, the flight attendant's job streesors was revealed influence upon social support and coping strategies.
Fourth, social support was revealed a positive(+) influence upon the organizational commitment.
Fifth, The externalizing strategies has negative(-)effect upon the organizational commitment.
Therefore, job stress not only has direct effect on the organizational commitment, but also has an indirect effect through social support and coping strategies. social and coping strategies are a very important intervening variable linking job stress and organizational commitment.
