    This study surveyed 500 students in the fifth and sixth grades in 3 schools in Gangbuk area of Seoul on their daily stress level and the relation between the students' stress and their eating habit or behavior. The study was designed to use the result as a base for educating eating life and help to settle sound eating habit and eating behavior.
    The results are as follows.
    1. The stress level of the respondents' was moderate, but high in individual area.
    2. Eating habit of 3 meal times a day was different by family form and school scores. Eating speed was faster in boys than in girls. Eating amount was also larger in boys, which was much different in large family group and middle score group.
    3. Many respondents answered that the amount and the saltiness of meal when they got stressed did not change. When changed, however, they were inclined to eat foods in smaller quantity and more hot spicily, which inclination stood out more in girls.
    4. The number of having meals with their family was turned out to be more than once a day, which stood out more in case their school score was middle and their mother did not have an occupation.
    5. The problem in eating habit life was picky. Eating a snack was mostly 1 or 2 times a day, and stood out in middle score group. The reason of snack- eating was "feeling empty and dull", which especially stood out in girls.
    6. Stress distribution was wider in boys but the stress level was higher in girls.
    7. BMI distribution was wider in Low Weight group and the strength of stress was the highest in Medium Stress group.
    8. The relation between BMI and eating habit or eating behavior was the highest in Low Weight group in all of the 3 meal times a day, eating speed, and eating amount. The problem in eating habit life was picky in Low Weight group and snack and it lay in voracity for High Weight group. The reason of snack-eating was mainly feeling emptiness and dullness.
    9. As to the relation between eating habit and eating behavior to the level of stress, Low Stress group was most sound in 3 meal times a day, eating speed, and eating amount. When saltiness and amount of food were changed, the inclination went to "more spicy", and Medium Stress group was inclined to eat less. The problem in eating habit life was picky in High Stress group.
    10. The relation between stress and eating habit and eating behavior was associated more with the saltiness and the amount of foods.
    11. The methods of relieving stress were mainly sleeping, and other than this, relaxing, listening to music, taking exercise, going to a game room, chatting with friends, and were making a significant difference to the stress level and the respondents' sex.
