노인간호에 대한 간호사의 지식ㆍ태도ㆍ실천에 관한 연구

This research based on the theory that knowledge can influence attitude and measuring the level of knowledge of nurses for old people nursing was designed to get to know the attitude of nurses to old people, and how this attitude can affect the nursing practice. To provide the primary information for old people nursing has been conducted this research.
This research has been conducted to 481 nurses at six university hospitals in affiliation.
The summary is as below.

1) The average score of knowledge about old people is 19.76 of 25 total, and this result shows relatively high.
2) The average score of attitude to old people is 2.77 of 4 total, and this result shows positive.
3) The average score of nursing practice for old people is 3.18 of 4 total, and this result shows high. Also,this can be explained nurse does diligently their nursing.
4) There is no meaningful result in terms of thedegree of knowledge, attitude and nursing practice to the old people.
5) There are meaningful resultsin terms of the degree of attitude to demographic, sociological and nursing characteristics. For example, the significant level for married people about the demographic and sociological traits is (p< .039). The significant level for 1-5 years clinical experience of old people related traits is (p<.008). The significant level of the most preferred age level is (p<.050).
6) There are some meaningful resultsin the demographic and sociological characteristics. In terms of the demographic and sociological characteristics, the significant level for over 35-age people is (p<.000), for married people is (p<.000), for advanced degree over master degree is (p<.017). Also, In terms of the characteristics of nursing practice, the significant level for people working at internal medicine department or the department of surgery is (p<.000), for people who have experience living with parents-in-law is (p<.030), for old-age-period which is the most preferred age level of nursing is (p<.036).

These results show that, even though the level of knowledge is high, it does not always affectthe attitude and practice. However, its relationship might be positive, and also the attitude and nursing practice to old patients are differentfrom in terms of the level of interest.
