음악활동이 자폐성 아동의 감각 발달 및 사회. 정서 영역에 미치는 효과

The purpose of this study was to find out how effective the musical activity programs that present sensory stimuli are on the sensory developmental behavior and the social-emotional fields of autistic children having sensory integration disorders.
First, of the children having autistic disorder diagnoses, 16 children who had sensory integration disorders were arranged separately in a treatment group and a control group.
The children of the treatment group received the musical activities individually for 30 minutes at a time, totally 40 times for 16 weeks from January 8th to May 4th. On the other hand, the children of the control group did not receive the musical activities.
The two groups took tests of the sensory development and the social-emotional field before and after the musical activity programs.
The results of this study are summarized as follows.
1. The sensory developmental grades of the treatment group received the musical activity programs rose significantly compared with those of the control group.(p<.01). Regarding the subjects, the treatment group improved more significantly than the control group on the subjects of visual, auditory and tactile developmental behavior.(p<.05)
2. The social-emotional field grades of the treatment group rose significantly compared with those of the control group.(p<.01). Regarding the subjects, the treatment group improved more significantly than the control group on the subject of
self-consciousness(p<.01) The results suggest that the musical activity programs are
effective on improving the sensory development and the social-emotional fields of autistic children.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 감각적 자극을 제공해 주는 음악활동 프로그램이 감각통합 이상을 나타내는 자폐성 장애아동의 감각발달행동과 사회·정서영역에 어떠한 효과를 보이는가를 알아보기 위해 실시한 것이다. 자폐성 장애 진단을 가진 아동들 중에 감각통합 이상으로 진단된 16명의 아동들을 각각 실험집단과 통제집단으로 무선배치 하였다. 실험집단은 1월 8일부터 5월 4일까지 16주간에 걸쳐 총 40회, 30분의 1:1 개별음악활동을 받았고 통제집단은 음악활동을 받지 않았다.
음악활동 프로그램 실시 전과 후에 실험집단과 통제집단에게 감각발달검사와 사회·정서영역검사를 하여 비교하였다. 연구의 결론은 다음과 같이 정리되었다. 첫째, 음악활동 프로그램을 받은 실험집단은 통제집단에 비해 감각발달점수가 유의미하게 향상되었다(p<.01). 하위영역을 살펴보면, 시각발달행동, 청각발달행동, 촉각발달행동문제에 있어 실험집단이 통제집단보다 유의미하게 향상된 것으로 나타났다(p<.05). 둘째, 음악활동 프로그램을 받은 실험집단은 통제집단에 비해 사회·정서영역점수가 유의미하게 향상되었다(p<.01). 하위영역을 살펴보면, 자아인식영역에 있어 실험집단이 통제집단보다 유의미하게 향상되었다(p<.01). 이는 음악활동 프로그램이 자폐성 장애아동의 감각발달 및 사회·정서영역 향상에 효과적임을 시사하는 것이다.
