The subjects of this study were 60 five-year-old children in A city, Kyongsangbook-do from 2000, May the 3rd week to July the second week, and divided two groups; experimental group participated in the activities and comparative group who didn't participate.
The research process was carried out 24 times out of total 8 programs for 8 weeks after pre-test and performed post-test, and then proceeded to analyze the results. The research instrument was Basic Life Style Evaluation Tools(1996) developed by Kindergarten attached to Ewha Women University to estimate the basic life style. The collected data were applied ANCOVA using SPSS/PC+.
The results of the above study were as follows; Traditional Etiquette Education Program generally promoted children's basic life style, and there was a significant difference in abstinence and cleanness among etiquette, abstinence, order, and cleanness. While they showed similar promotion to the children applied by the 6th Education Process in etiquette and order, Traditional Etiquette Program provided the positive opportunity to have an effect on abstinence looking back themselves and having abstinent mind, and have an effect on cleanness requiring a kind of habit in daily life.
A continuous research should be made to apply children's basic life style education to kindergarten after wide and systematic foundation was established through persistent study and examination.
