This paper aim to describe the indoor air quality in school environment through the analyses of particle by XRF, particle size analyzer, and scanning electron microscopy, which were observed at some school environment, such as industrial area and rural area.
The results of this study were follows.
The concentration of dust measured at Miryang were 0.7794 ㎎/㎥ in elementary school, 1.5592 ㎎/㎥ in middle school, and 2.4988 ㎎/㎥ in high school. Meanwhile, the concentration of dust measured at Changwon were 0.2448 ㎎/㎥ in elementary school, 0.4488 ㎎/㎥ in middle school, and 1.377 ㎎/㎥ in high school, respectively.
The component of dust in the classsroom by XRF analysis to identify major components showed that SiO₂, CaO₃, Fe₂O₃, Al₂O₃, and SO₃, respectively.
The size distribution(less than 5 ㎛) of dust measured at Miryang were 59.8 % in elementary school, 45.7 % in middle school, and 46.2 % in high school. Meanwhile, the size distribution of dust measured at Changwon were 70.2 % in elementary school, 61.0 % in middle school, and 67.4 % in high school, respectively. Experiments by particle size analyzer showed that particle size distribution had influenced on a school location.
