Kindergarten is a constitution of education. The behavior of the director of the constitution is one of major factors that have effect on the organizational climate and the degree of teachers' job satisfaction. So it was investigated in the study whether or not the directors majored in infant education.
The purpose of this study is to promote the efficiency of infant education, and to prepare basic resources to help the administrators formulate policy and conduct personnel management, by groping for devices with which one can run the organization efficiently, achieve the goals and make the teachers satisfied with their job.
The subject for this study was 1,700 kindergarten teachers nationwide, of which 900 were from private kindergarten and 800, public.
Early Childhood Work Environments Survey(ECWES), which Song, Yeu-Jin revised and supplemented, was used as measuring tool for the organizational climate and one which Lee, Myung-Ju revised and supplemented, for the degree of teachers' job satisfaction.
To examine what has effect on the organizational climate and the degree of teachers' job satisfaction, MANOVA was carried out with independent variables as major study and type of school, and with dependent variables as organizational climate and job satisfaction.
The results of this study are as follows ;
First, out of 10 factors concerning organizational climate according to the director's major, only Colleague Relation showed no difference and the remainder 9 factors, that is, Advance of Specialty, Director's Support, Clearness of Organizational Function, Pay/Promotion System, Decision-Making Procedure, Conformity of Goals, Job Performance, Physical Environment and Innovation, received positive appraisal from teachers who worked for the kindergarten of which director majored in infant education.
Secondly, out of 7 factors concerning job satisfaction according to the director's major study, Quality of Work, Pay, Quantity of Work and Educational Support showed no difference whatever the director's major study is, but Human Relation, Way of Superintendence and Public Recognition received higher appraisal from teachers who worked for the kindergarten of which director majored in infant education.
Thirdly, out of 10 factors concerning organizational climate according to the type of school, Colleague Relationship, Director's Support and Clearness of Organizational Function showed no difference between private and public teachers, but Decision-Making Procedure received positive appraisal from public teachers, while Advance of Specialty, Pay/Promotion System, Conformity of Goals, Job Performance, Physical Environment and Innovation received positive appraisal from private teachers.
Lastly, out of 7 factors concerning job satisfaction according to the type of school, Way of Superintendence, Educational Support showed no difference between private and public teachers, but Pay received more positive appraisal from public teachers, while Quality of Work, Quantity of Work, Public Recognition and Human Relation received higher appraisal from private teachers.
