ICT를 활용한 공동체주의적 도덕교육방법론 = (An) approach of communication perspectives on moral education methology through ICT

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 오늘날 교육계의 화두인 ‘학교와 공동체의 위기’에서도 우리 민족 저변에 자리하고 있는 공동체적인 요소의 바탕이 되는 ‘공동체주의’의 고찰을 통한 도덕교과의 공동체주의적 연계와 더불어 인터넷으로 대표되는 정보통신 기술을 활용하면서 도덕교육의 방법론을 모색하고자 한 것이다.
청소년들에게서 나타나고 있는 윤리적 문맹 현상은 마치 공동의 우리 문화로부터 도덕의 가장 기본적인 유형들이 사라지고, 탐욕과 물질이라는 거센 조류에 위협받는 것과도 같다. 이런 문제에 직면해 있으면서도, 학교가 도덕에 대해 가르쳐야 하는지에 대한 입장을 둘러싸고 여전히 상당한 논쟁이 일고 있으며, 도덕교과의 가치교육은 논쟁의 소지가 가장 많은 주제라고 할 수 있을 것이다. 서구중심의 개인주의적 교육의 접근이 우리의 교육 전반에 있어 그 한계점을 드러내고 있는 시점에서 ‘인격’과 ‘공동체’ 개념의 재등장은 도덕교육에 있어서의 ‘패러다임의 이동’이자, 그러한 표면적 변화의 이면에는 도덕교육 목표상의 변화, 즉 도덕교육 목표가 자율성에서 덕 또는 공동체의 강조로의 변화로 전환하는 것과 공동체에 대한 배려와 관심을 반영하는 것이다. 어느 사회에서나 공동체의 가치는 중요하지만, 특히 공동체주의 윤리학자 맥킨타이어 (A. MacIntyre)는 학교를 통해서 공동체의 공유된 신념이나 도덕적 태도가 길러지도록 준비시키는 것을 교육목적의 중요한 요소로 삼고, 진정한 도덕의 대안으로 ‘덕’의 윤리학을 제안하였다.
한편, 포스트모던시대, 지식 정보화에 이은 커뮤니케이션 시대에 교육현장의 교사들은 학습자들에게 새로운 환경에 맞는 지식과 경험을 제공해 주어야 할 것이다. 커뮤니케이션 시대의 ‘정보’의 차원을 넘어선 ‘통신과 대화’, 인간과 매체간-인간과 인간간의 ‘협동’과 ‘상호작용’, ‘대화’의 새로운 개념이 이전 시대와는 구분되는 사회·문화적 가치 개념, 곧, 다양성과 동시에 차이점, 개방성과 탈 중심성의 특징을 갖는다는 것을 인지할 필요가 있다.
인터넷으로 대표되는 정보통신기술에 초점을 두면서 우리는 바람직한 성공적인 삶을 위해 어떠한 교육이 필요한 것인가에 대해 고려해보지 않을 수 없다. 이것은 곧, 학습될 내용, 무엇을 가르칠 것인가와 방법론, 어떻게 가르칠 것인가의 모두를 포함한다. 이미 60년대부터 시작하여 새로운 매체가 등장할 때마다 제기되었던 급진적 교육환경의 변화에 대한 기대는 늘 미흡했었다. 이에 정보통신기술을 활용한 교육에 필요한 다양한 교수학습 매체가 활용되어야 할 것이고, 이러한 정보통신활용에 관한 ‘교육적 이론’에 대한 논의가 활발히 제기되고 있다. 우리는 주변의 환경요소들, 정보통신으로 대변되는 각종 매체들, TV프로그램, 영화나 신문을 활용한 수업 방안을 모색해야 할 것이다.
연구자는 ICT (Information Communication Technology)를 활용한 공동체주의적 도덕교육방법이 적극적으로 활용되길 기대하며, 그에 따른 교육적 효과는 교사나 학생들에게 다양하고 수많은 지식과 정보를 보다 쉽게 비교·분석·평가·선택·가공에 활용함으로써 보다 경쟁력 있는 학교 교육을 이룰 수 있다는 것을 강조하고자 한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The aim of this study is to review communitarian perspectives on moral education through research communitarianism, which is one of the important debate in the current situation of the crisis of school and community, and also to explore methodology of moral education with focusing on ICT (Information & Communication Technology) represented by Internet. In recent decades, ethical illiteracy phenomenon is often debated, which is appeared at the whole society as well as education circles. This explains our present phase is like that the most basic patterns of ethics disappear from our common culture and, as if it were threatened by the fierce tide of greed and materialism. In spite of facing this problem, it's a distinct truth that a lot of debates are still occurred, whether school should teach ethics or not. Therefore educating value in ethics can be the most arguable theme as such.
First of all I propose that the re-advent of character and community is a paradigm shift in moral education comparing that the approach of western style's education is limited in our whole education- circle. Behind such a superficial change, the change of moral education's objectives, namely the aim of moral education is transferred from autonomy to virtue or the emphasis of community and also it reflects Care and Interest about community. The value of community is the most important to the communitarian. Communitarian, A. Maclntyre considered the main aims of education such as raising the common belief of community or moral attitude with having same background through school. He proposed the ethics of 'virtue' as an alternative plan of sincere morals. In addition to, I want to define our current age as an information age, communication age with post-modern age. In communicational society followed by knowledge-information society, teachers should provide the learners knowledges and experiences suitable for new environment. The meaning of post-modern of information can express discriminative society from earlier age, cultural value, diversity, a differential, openness, diverging from core, breaking border, changing role, mobility of identity. It's true that this corresponds to communication age. But the special character which classifies communication age with information age is that ICT emphasize the dimension of information, on the other hand, ICT in communication age extends into the communicational dimension beyond the information. The specialty of communication age is the age of human and media, human and collaboration, interactivity and conversation.
We have to consider what type of education is needed in order to live a desirable, successful life focusing on ICT standing for internet. This includes learning contents, what to teach, methodology, and how to teach. The expectation about radical change of educational environment has not been always satisfied, which has been submitted whenever new media came out since 1960's. Therefore various teaching-learning media using ICT should be utilized and many arguments about educational study utilizing ICT are being occurred. The level and ability of information is becoming the most important factor to develope the competitive power or individual, society and the nation in knowledge-information society. We have to grope for the plan which can utilize the various media representing ICT, TV program, movie or newspaper.
I tried to search for the teaching-learning plan of moral subject utilizing ICT. And also I tried to point the development of teaching-learning using ICT by adding communitarian Perspectives on moral education. ICT made it possible for teachers and students to compare, analyze, appreciate. choose, utilize a lot of knowledge and information easier, so the more competitive school education can be achieved. But until now the class using ICT usually has been done in limited space, as a pattern of individual classwork with each class members. Consequently, the classwork which was made the most of educational possibility of ICT was not presented and lack of learning about emotional element which is needed to society member. So in education through ICT, researches and efforts about the effective operation plan of cooperation study should be made continuously.
