또래상담이 초등학생의 자아개념에 미치는 영향 = (The) Effect of Peer Counseling on Self-concept of Elementary Students

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 초등학교 4학년 학생들을 대상으로 또래상담이 초등학생의 자아개념에 어떠한 영향을 주는지 알아보고자 하였다. 보다 구체적으로 또래상담이 자아개념이 낮은 아동과 자아개념이 중간 이상인 아동의 자아개념에 어떠한 영향을 주는지 알아보고자 하였다. 이에 인천시에 소재한 초등학교에서 76명(또래상담자 8명 포함)을 대상으로 하여 또래상담이 자아개념에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 실험집단과 비교집단의 자아개념 전체 및 하위영역에 대한 사후검사를 비교한 결과, 자아개념이 낮은 아동은 자아개념 전체, 학급 및 성취 자아개념, 사회 자아개념, 가족 자아개념, 정서 자아개념이 p<.05 수준에서 유의미한 차이를 나타내었다. 그러나 일반적 자아개념, 신체 자아개념은 유의미한 차이가 없었다. 자아개념이 중간 이상인 아동의 경우는 사후검사 점수 비교에 있어 실험집단과 비교집단 간에 아무런 유의미한 차이가 없었다.
둘째, 실험집단 내의 자아개념 변화 정도를 자아개념 전체 및 하위영역별로 비교한 결과, p<.05 수준에서 실험집단 중 자아개념이 낮은 아동은 자아개념 전체, 학급 및 성취 자아개념에서 유의미한 변화가 있었다. 자아개념이 중간 이상인 아동은 자아개념 전체를 비롯한 모든 하위영역에서 유의미한 변화가 있었다.
따라서 또래상담은 초등학생의 자아개념의 긍정적인 영향을 준다고 할 수 있다. 특히 또래상담은 자아개념이 낮은 아동들의 자아개념 향상에 더 효과적이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This research tried to investigate the effects of peer counseling on self-concept of forth-year elementary students. In concrete terms, this research wished to investigate the effects of peer counseling on self-concept of the children whose self-concept is low and more than middle. For 76 children (including peer counselor 8 children) attending the elementary school which located in Incheon, this research analyzed the effects of peer counseling on their self-concept.
The result is following as:
First, According to the result comparing the post test of the total self-concept and self-concept's lower domain for the experimental group and comparison group, the children with inferior self-concept has a probability level p<.05 for the total self-concept, class-accomplishment self-concept, society self-concept, household self-concept, emotion self-concept. But there were no meaningful changes in general self and body self. For the children whose self-concept is more than middle, there were no meaningful changes between the experiment group and the comparison group in the marks comparison of the post test.
Second, we compared the preliminary-post test result of the total self-concept and the self-concept's lower domain for the experimental group. According to the result comparing the preliminary-post test of the total self-concept and self-concept's lower domain for the experimental group, the children with inferior self-concept has a probability level p<.05 for the total self and class-accomplishment self. For the children whose self-concept is more than middle, there were meaningful changes all of the self-concept.
Peer counseling positively affect on the self-concept of elementary students. Especially, peer counseling affect on the children who self-concept is lower.
