유치원 실외놀이의 시설 및 운영 실태 : 서울시 공립유치원을 중심으로 = (A) study of kindergarten outdoor play equipments and program : mainly focused on public kindergarten in Seoul

The purpose of this study was to investigate the kindergarten outdoor play equipments and program. The subjects were 144 teachers in 60 public kindergartens in Seoul. Data were collected, using the questionnaire that was developed by the author based on research of Sim(1995) and Kim(2000). The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics used by SAS statistic program version 8.0. / The results of this study were as follows: / First, the research on Kindergarten outdoor play equipments shows that most public kindergartens in Seoul had their own outdoor play equipments. There was difference in outdoor play equipments between the kindergartens with and without their own outdoor playgrounds. The kindergartens which were without their own outdoor equipments shared the outdoor playground with elementary schools. / Second, outdoor play was usually done 2~3 times a week for 20~30 minutes. The reason of the insufficient time for outdoor play program was the shortage of outdoor equipments and activities. The outdoor play program was planned by teachers based on children''s interests. Outdoor play activities were usually utilized just outdoor playground equipments. The proportion of a teacher to children was 1:30. They usually participated in the outdoor play activities on a fine day considering children''s health. / Third, the teachers recognized outdoor play was as important as indoor play. The opportunity of teacher education for outdoor play was rare.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 우리나라 유치원기관의 실외놀이 시설의 현황과 실외놀이의 운영이 어떻게 이루어지고 있는지를 알아보고자 하였다. 연구 대상은 서울 시내에 있는 91개 공립유치원 중에서 설문지에 응답한 60개 유치원과, 응답한 유치원에 근무하는 교사 144명을 대상으로 하였다. / 연구 도구는 심운숙(1995)의‘유아교육기관의 실외환경에 관한 연구’와 김수경(2000)의‘유아교육기관 실외놀이 실태에 관한 양적?질적 분석’에서 사용한 설문지를 토대로 본 연구에 맞게 재수정?보완하여 사용하였다. 수집된 자료는 SAS 통계 프로그램 버전 8.0을 이용하여 빈도 분석을 실시하였다./ 본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다./ 첫째, 유치원 실외놀이 공간의 실태를 조사한 결과 서울시 공립유치원내에서 유치원 전용 실외놀이 시설이 있는 경우가 없는 경우보다 많았다. 시설의 구성 내용에 있어서는 유치원 전용 실외놀이공간이 있는 유치원은 초등학교 실외놀이 공간을 사용하는 유치원보다 다양한 시설을 갖추고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 유치원 전용 실외놀이 시설이 없는 경우 그 이유를 예산 부족때문이라고 생각하였고, 초등학교 실외놀이 시설을 사용할 경우 시간의 중복으로 인한 복잡성을 가장 큰 문제점으로 지적하였다. 실외놀이 공간의 점검은 각 반 교사가 육안으로 수시 점검하는 것으로 나타났다. / 둘째, 실외놀이 운영은 주 2~3회, 한번 실시 할 때마다 20~30 분씩 하고 있었으며 놀이 시간은 적당하다고 인식했다. 실외놀이 시간이 부족하다고 한 경우 그 이유로 시설 부족과 활동내용의 부족을 지적하였다. 수업 계획은 교육 계획안을 작성하여 계획하나 유아의 흥미나 요구에 따라 놀이 시간을
