우리나라 기독교 대안학교 사례연구 = (A) case study of Christian Alternative Schools in Korea

국문 초록 (Abstract)

최근 학교교육에 대한 신뢰가 떨어지면서 사교육 의존도가 급증하고 있고 한편 학교를 떠나는 아이들이 늘고 있다. 이렇듯 사회로부터 외면 당하고 있는 오늘날의 학교는 삶의 본질을 추구하기 보다 사회적인 지위향상을 위해 지식과 기술을 배우는 곳으로 전락해버렸다. 이에 대하여 사회 한구석에서 작게는 기존의 학교교육에 대한 부분적인 개선을 시도한 형태부터 크게는 학교 패러다임의 전환을 추구하는 형태에 이르기까지 다양한 움직임이 시작되고 있다. 바로 '대안교육'이다.
이 가운데는 성경적인 관점으로 교육을 바라보는 '기독교 대안교육'의 움직임도 섞여있다. 기존의 미션스쿨이나 기독교 학교가 현행 학교체제에 예배와 성경공부를 끼워 넣은 형태라면, 기독교 대안교육은 학교의 모든 활동이 성경적인 시각으로 재조명되어 움직인다. 즉, 교육목적, 교육내용, 수업, 평가, 학생선발 그리고 학교의 행정 등에 이르기까지 모든 교육 활동이 기독교적 관점에 의해 이루어진다. 따라서 기독교 대안 학교는 모든 삶의 영역을 하나님을 경배하고 섬기는데 초점을 맞춘다.
그렇다면 우리나라 기독교 대안학교의 현실은 어떠한가. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 실천사례들을 조사, 비교 분석하여 우리나라 기독교 대안학교가 나아갈 방향을 알아보고자 하였다.
먼저, 기독교 대안교육의 이해를 위해서 기독교 대안교육의 철학적 배경을 살펴보았다. 그리고 실천사례로 7개 학교(로고스크리스챤아카데미, 독수리학교, 꿈의 학교, V-School, 풀무농업기술고등학교, 세인고등학교, 지구촌 고등학교)를 선정하였다. 사례의 분석은 문헌연구를 통해 제시한 기독교 대안교육의 모델로 교육관, 교육과정, 그리고 학교 운영의 3가지 영역을 나누어 비교 분석하였다.
연구 결과 기독교 세계관에 근거한 교육관이 분명하게 설정되어 있었다. 그러나 교육과정 면에서 한국적인 기독교 교육과정의 부재로 인해 해외의 기독교교육과정을 수입하거나 일반 학교 교육과정을 일부 수정하여 사용하고 있다. 기독교적인 전인교육을 실시하고 있으나 전반적으로 지역사회와의 긴밀한 협조 하에 공동체적인 삶을 위한 다양한 교육활동이 미비하였다. 학교운영 면에서 기독교공동체(가정, 교회)와의 협력관계를 중시하여 가정과의 긴밀한 협력이 이루어지고 있었으나 교회와의 협력은 미비하였다. 그리고 기독교적인 교육을 위한 교사교육도 거의 이루어지지 않고 있었다.
결론적으로 우리나라 기독교대안학교의 나아가야 할 방향은 한국적 기독교 교육과정 개발과 교과서의 발간, 보다 다양한 공동체 활동과 섬김 활동, 신앙과 학문을 통합시킬 수 있는 기독교사의 양성, 기독교 공동체로서 교회와 학교가 긴밀한 협력관계를 구축해야 할 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Recently, as reliance on school education becomes lower and dependence on private education becomes higher, lots of students, discouraged with the current school education system, drop out and leave school. Current schools are increasingly disregarded by a growing sector of society, having falling in stature from a place where one can inquire about the essence of life to a necessary practical evil where students merely acquire knowledge and skills to improve one's social position. In response, there have been attempts to improve existing school education via the shift of the educational paradigm. It is so called 'Alternative Education'.
One of these movements is 'Christian Alternative Education', which considers education through the biblical point of view. Unlike existing 'Mission Schools' or 'Christian Schools', which just include 'Worship' and 'Bible Study' in the existing school curriculum, christian alternative education lights and carries out all of the school activities according to a biblical viewpoint. Namely, all of the educational activities including the objectives of education, the contents of education, instruction, assessment, selection of students and school administration get accomplished depending on a biblical standpoint. Therefore, this school focuses on worship and service to God among all of the fields of life.
On this thesis, I will investigate several sample schools which practice 'Christian Alternative Education', compare them, suggest the actual state of the Christian Alternative Education in Korea.
Seven schools have been selected for this case study. They are as follows : 'Logos Christian Academy', 'Eagle School', 'Dream's School', 'V-School', 'Poolmoo Agricultural Technology High School', 'Seine High School' and 'Global Village High School'.
Analysis of cases, which is practiced through the model of Christian Alternative Education proposed through records study, is divided into three parts - a view of education, a curriculum, and school management, and all of the cases are also analyzed comparatively.
As a result of analysis, a view of education is based on a christian view of the world. However, it has been observed that sometimes Christian Alternative Education schools import foreign curricula or modify and partially use the existing public school curriculum. They carry out christian all-round education, but they have no various educational activities for the community. And they have a cooperative relationship with family but not with church. Moreover, many of the schools have no training system for teachers.
In conclusion, the christian alternation school in Korea should dedicate to develope Korean curriculum, publish textbooks, participate in more activities and service for the community, train Christian teachers who can integrate faith and education, encourage church and school to have a cooperative relationship each other as christian communities.
