The study results are as follows.
First, we took a look at the relationship between attachment and depression of child for his or her father and mother. All the attachment with father and mother showed generally irrelevant correlation with depression of the child, and thus the child has a good communication with his or her parents, constructs the reliance, and the less alienation one feels, the lower depression propensity one has. In addition, the study revealed that the attachment for father and mother have influence on the depression of the child. In particular, this also revealed that, for a father, feeling less alienation from him and constructing the reliance with the child for a mother is of importance. By means of it, father and mother have influence on the healthy sentiment of the child to some extent with their own roles.
Second, while the attachment of father and mother have influence on their of their child according to their sex, the less alienation male child feels and the more he forms the reliance with his mother, the lower depression propensity he has, and the higher reliance the female child has with her father and mother, the more healthy sentiment she has.
This study indicates that the alienation and reliance from father and reliance with mother can have much impact on child depression. The result suggests how much the parents play a critical role in healthy sentiment of their children.
