The purpose of this study is to find out how playtherapists` experience from childhood with their parent affect on the 'countertrasnference feelings' to child patients and child patients` parents.
The subjects of this study were 76 playtherapists who were working at 81 institutes of the child counseling center, playtherapy clinic in child psychiatry, the counseling clinic social welfare center, the institute and the playtherapy
clinic attached to a university. All playtherapists had more than 5 playtherapy cases experience to measure the playtherapists` habitual countertransference feelings.
In order to measure the playtherapists` experience, Epstein(1993)`s Mother-Father-Peer Scale(MFPS) was used. For measuring the countertransference feelings, Holmqvist(2001)`s The Feeling Checklist(FC) was used.
To analyze the data, frequency and percentage were obtained by SPSS statistical program. And factor analysis and Cronbach`s α were calculated to investigate the validity and reliability of MFPS and FC. And for the each research problem, stepwise regression analysis and correlation analysis were used.
The results of this study are as follows.
First, in the playtherpayists` countertransfernce feelings to their child patients, playtherapists who habitually tended to felt 'Close' countertransfernce feelings toward their child patients had more over-protected experience from mother and
playtherapists who habitually tended to felt 'Cold' countertransfernce feelings toward their child patients had more being-rejected experience from mother. And playtherapists who habitually tended to felt 'Stuck' countertransfernce feelings had more being-rejected experience from father.
Second, in the playtherpayists` countertransfernce feelings to their child patients` parent, playtherapists who habitually tended to felt 'Positive' countertransfernce feelings toward their child patients` parent had more accepted
from mother and encouraging -independence experience from father, playtherapists who habitually tended to felt 'Distant' countertransfernce feelings had more over-protected from mother and accepted experience from father. In
addition, playtherapists who habitually tended to felt 'Close' and 'Negative' countertransfernce feelings toward their child patients` parent had over-protected experience from mother whereas playtherapists who habitually tended to felt
'Cold' and 'Stuck' countertransfernce feelings had more being-rejected experience from mother.
Third, there was significant relationship between playtherapists` sub-factors of the countertranfernce feelings to child patients and playtherapists`s sub-factors of the countertranfernce feelings to child patients` parent. Playtherapists who
habitually tended to felt 'Positive', 'Warm' and 'Autonomous' countertransfernce feelings toward their child patients felt 'Positive', 'Warm' and 'Autonomous' countertransfernce feelings toward their child patients` parent. Playtherapists
who habitually tended to felt 'Close', 'Negative', 'Cold' and 'Stuck' countertransfernce feelings toward their child patients felt 'Close', 'Negative', 'Cold' and 'Stuck' countertransfernce feelings toward their child patients` parent. Playtherapists who habitually tended to felt 'Distant' countertransfernce feelings toward their child patients felt 'Distant' countertransfernce feelings toward their child patients` parent. Consequently, positive feelings to child patients were
associated positive feelings to child patients` parents whereas negative feelings were associated negative feelings to child patients` parents.
