유아교사의 윤리의식에 관한 연구 = (A) study of early childhood teachers' ethics consciousness

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 유아교사가 지각하는 윤리의식을 유아교사의 배경에 의하여 살펴보고, 유아교사의 윤리강령 제정을 위한 기초자료를 제공하는 것을 목적으로 연구문제를 다음과 같이 설정하였다.
첫째, 유아교사가 지각하는 윤리의식은 어떠한가?
둘째, 유아교사의 학력에 따라 윤리의식에는 차이가 있는가?
셋째, 유아교사의 경력에 따라 윤리의식에는 차이가 있는가?
본 연구의 대상은 서울시 및 경기도, 경북, 대전직할시에 위치한 유치원에 근무하는 현직교사 367명이며, 유아교사의 윤리의식 수준을 알아보기 위한 교사용 질문지는 1)NAEYC 의 윤리강령, 2)Feeny 와 Sysko(1986)의 연구, 3) 최왕섭의 연구결과를 토대로 연구자가 수정·보완하여 조사하였다. 유아교사의 윤리의식에 대한 질문지는 점수화하여 일원변량 분석(ANOVA), t검증, Scheffe 사후검증을 실시하여 분석하였다.
본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다.
첫째, 유아교사가 지각하는 윤리의식은 가정, 유아, 동료 교사 및 유아교육기관, 사회와 관련된 문항들에서 항목의 순으로 윤리의식이 높게 나타났다.
둘째, 유아교사의 학력에 따른 윤리의식은 학력이 높을수록 윤리의식이 높게 나다났다.
셋째, 유아교사의 경력에 따른 윤리의식은 대체로 경력이 많을수록 높은 윤리의식을 가지고 있었다.
이 연구를 기초로 하여 유아교사의 윤리의식이 교직 만족도에는 어떠한 영향을 미치는지, 윤리의식을 고취시키려면 어떤 교육이 이루어져야 하는지 등에 대한 연구가 지속적으로 이루어지고, 유아교사의 윤리적 딜레마가 무엇이고 그것을 해결할 수 있는 방법으로서 윤리강령이 제정되어야 한다고 본다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose ct this study was to provide empirical data to construct teachers' code of ethics foundation. For the purpose of the study, the differences according to teacher educational background and teaching experience were examined.
For this purpose, research questions were as follows:
1.Are there any differences in teachers' consciousness of ethics?
2. Are there any differences in teachers' consciousness of ethics according to teachers educational background?
3. Are there any differences in teachers' consciousness of ethics according to teachers' teaching experience?
To examine three research questions, the subjects for this study were 367 teachers from kindergartens located in Seoul, Gyunggi, Gyungbuk, and Daejeon.
To measure the teachers' ethics consciousness were used a questionnaire. The questionnaire consisted of NAEYC's code of ethics and items used by Feeny & Sysko(1986) and Choi(1994)'s study. Analysis techniques which were used for mean, standard deviation, F-verification by one-way ANOVA.
All variables within research model were measured by using 5 point Likert type scale. The findings are as follows:
1. Teachers' consciousness of ethics about families was higher than any other categories such as children, colleagues, and community.
2. Teachers' consciousness of ethics was related to teachers' educational background. The more they take up their educational background, the higher level of consciousness of ethics they have.
3. Teachers' consciousness of ethics was related to teachers' teaching experience. The more they take up their teaching experience, the higher level of consciousness of ethics they have.
These findings of the study suggest that ethical dilemmas early childhood teachers' should be figured out. Also code of ethics for early childhood teacher should be developed to solve their ethical dilemma.
