'Prada' 패션 슈즈 디자인의 조형미 연구 : 여성용 패션 슈즈를 중심으로 = (A) study on the aesthetic characteristics of Prada's fashion shoes design

국문 초록 (Abstract)

단순히 발을 보호하기 위해 신기 시작한 신발은 복식의 발달과 함께 중요 한 패션 액세서리가 되었으며, 토탈 패션을 지향하는 현대에는 패션의 경향에 맞추어 구두의 유행이 날로 변화하고 있으며, 그 중요성이 더욱 부각되고 있다.
때문에 예전에는 드물었던 Prada'의 나일론 가방이나 '패레가모 (Feregamo)'의 신발 등 의류에 뒤지지 않게 액세서리 디자이너의 명성이 높아지고 있는 실정이다.
따라서 본 연구는 액세서리 디자인으로부터 명성을 얻기 시작하여 의류 디자인에 이르기까지 전 세계적인 성공을 이루고 있는 'Prada'의 디자인 정신과 그녀의 패션 슈즈에 나타난 외적, 내적인 조형미를 연구하여 신발이 차지하는 패션 조형물로서의 가치를 규명함으로써 신발 디자인 개발에 도움이 되고자 하는 바램에서 이 연구가 수행되었다.
20세기 초로 거슬러 올라가는 'Prada'의 역사는 1970년대 후반기로 접어들면서 마리오 프라다(Mario Prada)의 손녀인 뮤치아 프라다(Miuccia Prada)의 등장과 함께 새로운 장을 열게 되였다. 정치학과 마임 등 패션과는 동떨어진 분야에 몰입해 있던 그녀가 할아버지의 가업욜 확장시키겠다는 결심과 노력의 결과 'Prada'는 이전의 명성과 신뢰를 능가하는 새로운 역사 의 전기를 맞게 되었다.
가죽 제품에 주력하던 'Prada'는 1985년부터 신발 디자인으로까지 영역을 확대하였으며, 오랜 동안 축적된 기술적 노하우와 섬세한 장인 정신으로 예술품에 버금가는 하나의 완벽한 제품을 탄생시키고 있다.
본 연구는 'Prada' 패션 슈즈의 디자인을 조형적 특성과 미적 측면으로 분석하기 위하여 형태. 소재. 색채. 장식 등을 연구·고찰하였다.
구두의 토(toe) 모양과 힐(heel) 모양으로 형성되는 형태적 특성은 토 모양에 있어서는 직선적인 형태로 심플함과 모던함을 강조하였다. 굽 모양에 있어서는 직선을 사용한 기하학적인 실루엣으로 토 모양의 모던함과 조화를 이루었으며. 예 기치 못한 다양한 굽의 형태를 시도함으로써 힐(heel)의 다양 한 형태적 조형성을 제시하였다. 소재는 광택 소재의 사용, 광택 소재와 무광택 소재의 극적인 대비. 타조피나 뱀피와 같은 희귀 소재 등의 사용으로 표면적 재질감을 극대화하였다. 색채는 흑백 대비와 무채색과 원색대비의 강렬한 색채대비로 뚜렷한 시각효과를 창출함으로써 현대적인 명료함과 간결함을 강조하였고, 은근하고 부드러운 동일색상조화와 다양한 인접색상 조화를 통해서 우아한 여성미를 창출하였다. 이러한 디자인에 심플한 밴드 장 식, 과장된 리본 장식. 언밸런스한 믹스매치의 장식을 첨가함으로써 프라다 패션 슈즈의 특성을 한층 돋보이게 디자인하였다.
이와 같은 'Prada' 패션 슈즈 디자인의 조형적 특징을 바탕으로 한 조형미는 다음과 같이 정리될 수 있다.
첫째, 현대적인 모던함을 강조한 미니멀리즘은 'Prada'의 중요한 조형미 로 유추되며, 형태의 단순하고 간결함, 무채색과의 조화 등으로 모던함의 극치를 세련된 미니멀리즘으로 표현하고 있다.
둘째, 퓨춰리즘을 바탕으로 한 스포티즘은 미래적이면서도 다기능적인 디자인으로 실용적인 아름다음을 추구하였다.
셋째, 여성의 아름다움을 표현한 페미니즘은 구두의 조형 요소에 기본적 인 미적 가치로 내재해 있으며, 섹시한 여성의 상징인 하이 힐(high heel)의 사용, 다양한 재질감의 소재와 은근한 색채대비로 우아한 여성미를 창출하였다.
넷째, 패션 슈즈를 재미있고 재치 있게 표현한 유머는 그녀의 작품에서 자유롭고 파격적인 힐(heel) 모양의 변형. 소재와 색상의 믹스매치, 아이러니한 디테일의 사용 등으로 여성스러움을 귀엽고 익살스럽게 표현하고 있다.
이와 같이 'Prada' 패션 슈즈는 현대미와 여성미를 기본 바탕으로 디자인 하였으며, 그녀의 작품 속에는 이탈리아인의 장인 정신과 그녀의 합리주의 적인 미학이 기준이 되어 새로운 감각을 균형감 있게 조화시킨 조형물이라 고 할 수 있다.
본 연구는 이러한 'Prada' 패션 슈즈의 조형적 아름다움을 유추함으로서 패션 슈즈의 조형의 영역을 확대시키고, 새로운 변화와 시도를 가능케 함으로써 신발 디자인의 무한한 잠재적 표현 영역을 더욱 확대시킬 수 있는 역할을 기대하며, 신발 디자인 연구에 도움이 되기를 기대한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Originally used for protection purposes, shoes are now considered one of the most important accessories in fashion, in accordance with the development of apparel and accessories throughout the years. The trend of shoes changes fast and constantly, no different than in apparel, and the importance of them are becoming more evident. Therefore, not only the famous, 'Prada' nylon bags and 'Feregamo' shoes have won the fame, but accessory designers are also gaining reputations, no less than apparel and shoe designers.
Accordingly, this research intend to study on the design spirit of 'Prada', one of the world's most successful designer, the inner and outer formative aesthetics of her shoes, the value of her designs as art of fashion and ultimately provide references to better design development results.
The history of 'Prada' started back in early 20th century and opened a new era when Miuccia Prada, grand-daughter of Mario Prada, inherited the business.
She was immersed in Politics and mime when she was young, but she was determined to expand her grandfather's business eventually and her great efforts poured into the business brought fame and trust that surpassed previous reputation.
In 1985, 'Prada' began expanding their leather goods business to shoe business, and with their amassed knowhow and delicate craftsmanship, 'Prada' continued to create perfect products that are second to artworks. This research is focused on structure, material, color and decoration of 'Prada' designs to analyse formative characteristics and aesthetics.
When formative characteristics are determined with shapes of toe and heel, the shape of 'Prada' shoes has the linear toe shape emphasizing simple and modern image. And with unexpected and various shapes of heels, they create various formative aspects. The use of shiny materials, combination of shiny/dull materials, and rare materials like ostrich and snake skins maximizes the surface texture. The contrasting color uses, such as black/white, and neutral/primary colors give strong graphic effect while emphasizing concise and simple modernity at the same time. Also, the harmonization and use of similar color shades and combination of various colors create elegant femininity. Applying various decorations, such as simple bands, exaggerated ribbons, unbalanced mix and match to such simple design add special characteristics to 'Prada' shoes provide peculiar image.
Such formative characteristics can be defined as following.
First, minimalism concept that emphasizes modernity is one of the most peculiar characteristics that 'Prada' designs offer. Minimalism is expressed in culmination of simple and subtle designs and harmony of neutral tones.
Secondly, the sports line of 'Prada', based on futurism aims for practical beauty with futuristic and multi-functional designs.
Thirdly, the feminism concept that well express women's beauty is immanent in structure of the shoes, such as use of high heels which is the symbol of sexy femininity, various materials and subtle color combinations and therefore create elegant femininity.
Lastly, her works designed in fun and humorous ways break away from her simple and modern concept, and they are designed with various forms of heels, mixing and matching of different fabrics and colors as well as ironical details.
In conclusion, 'Prada' shoes are designed based on modernity and femininity with Italian craftsmanship and her practical aesthetics, and those aspects gave the birth to well-balanced and sensible products.
This research analogize the formative aesthetics of 'Prada' shoes in order to expect the expansion of formative aspects of fashion shoes, the challenges toward new changes and ventures, as well as ways to expand the sphere of latent powers that shoe designs can offer and ultimately support the studies on shoe designs.
