초등학교 실과 교과를 통한 진로교육 방향 모색

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 초등학교 실과의 진로관련 영역에 대한 현장 교사의 지도 실태를 파악하여 실과교과에서의 보다 효율적인 진로지도를 위한 방향을 제시하는데 있다.
따라서 부산지역 초등학교 교사 302명을 대상으로 초등학생들의 진로인식, 진로교육의 필요성, 진로교육 방법, 실과 교과와 진로교육과의 관계, 실과교과에서의 진로지도 정도와 방법, 제 7차 실과교육과정에서 진로단원의 도입에 대하여 조사하였으며, 이를 바탕으로 실제적인 실과에서의 진로교육 방안을 제시하였다.
연구결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다.
가. 초등학생들의 진로인식은 정도의 차이는 있으나 63.8%의 교사가 인식하고 있다는 대답을 하여 초등학생들의 진로인식에 긍정적인 결과를 보였다. 그러나 직업 선호도에서는 맹목적이고 유형에 민감한 인기위주의 직업을 선호(51.0%)한다는 응답이 높았고, 진로정보를 얻는 방법에서도 교과 학습(7.3%)을 통하거나 부모(12.9%)를 통하여 진로정보를 얻는 것보다 신문이나 T V를 통해 얻는다(66.6%)는 의견이 많은 것은 초등학생들의 진로인식 단계에서 비교육적이고 염려스러운 부분일 것이다.
나. 전체 교사의 61.2%가 초등학교에서 실시하고 있는 진로교육이 형식적이거나 비교적 잘 이루어지지 않는다고 응답하여 초등학교에서의 진로교육이 제대로 행해지지 않음을 알 수 있다. 초등학교 실과교과 지도와 진로지도에 관한 조사에서 실과교과가 초등학생의 진로지도에 가장 효과적인 교과라는 대답이 전체 교사의 58.6%로 가장 높았고, 그 이유로는 실과가 생활교과이기 때문이라고 하였다. 실과교과가 진로지도에 주는 도움의 정도에 대해 남교사의 72.6%, 여교사 52.5%가 도움을 준다고 답하여 남녀 교사간에 의미있는 차이를 보였다. 한편 실과교과가 타 교과보다 진로지도에 효과적이라는 대답이 전체 교사의 63.9%로 높게 나타났으며 남녀 교사간에 의미있는 차이를 보였다. 실과교과 지도를 통한 진로교육 효과의 극대화를 위해서는 전담교사를 두어야한다는 의견이 36.4%로 높게 응답하였다. 이는 실과교과의 영역이 생활전반에 걸친 다양한 영역으로 편성되어 있을 뿐 아니라 기능교과로 지도하는데도 어려움이 많다는 것을 시사해 준다고 볼 수 있다.
다. 제 7차 실과 교육과정에 진로단원이 도입된 데 대하여 전체교사의 84.8%가 바람직하다고 답하였다. 이는 초등학교 실과를 통한 진로교육이 가장 바람직하다는 사실을 대변해 주는 것이며, 효과적인 진로지도의 학습법으로는 견학 및 현장 학습을 들었고, 일, 노작, 실습 등을 통하여 타교과와 의 차별화를 두어야한다고 응답하였다.
라. 실과 교과를 통한 효율적인 진로교육의 방안으로 제 7차 실과교육과정 체계와 관련하여 가족과 일의 이해를 통한 진로지도, 생활 기술을 통한 진로지도, 생활 자원과 환경의 관리를 통한 진로지도 방안을 제시하였으며, 다양한 학교 활동을 통한 진로지도 방안으로 현장학습을 통한 진로지도, 실과 교과 내용과 연계한 특별활동 및 봉사활동 프로그램을 통한 진로교육 방법 등을 제시하였다.
끝으로 진로지도의 효율화 방안으로 일선 교사들을 위한 진로교육 연수확대, 진로지도 시간 확대, 진로교육 자료 확보, 실과 전담 교사제 실시, 그리고 지역 사회와의 연계 강화 등을 제시하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to figure out how the teachers in elementary schools teach the practical course in relating to the career education and to give them the direction to effectively do this.
I studied 302 elementary school teachers in Pusan and gathered data that found:
- the elementary school students' conception about careers,
- the necessity of the career education,
- the method to do the career education,
- the relationship between the Practical Course and career education,
- the amount of career education in Practical Course,
- the introduction of the Practical Course in the 7th Educational Course.
On the basis of this study, I have outlined how to teach career education in Practical Course. Following is the summary.
A. Even though there is some difference, about 63.8% teachers said that elementary school students think about the career planning. However, their job preferences are sort of ignorant and sensitive to trends (51.0%). About the question how to get the information about the jobs, more students get the information through newspaper and T V. (66.6%) than from parents (12.9%) and school education (7.3%). This fact may cause us to worry about the lack of education.
B. 61.2% of the teachers surveyed said career education is just a formality and it is not effectively done. This tells us that career education is not well done in actuality When analyzed the survey about Practical course it self and career education, 58.6% answered Practical Course is the most effective subject to do career education and they said the reason is because it deals with real life. About the question, how helpful Practical Course is to the career education, there is a meaningful difference between the male teachers (72.6%) and female teachers (49.3%). About the question, if Practical Course is effective to career education, 63.9% of all teachers answered yes. There was also a meaningful difference between the genders. About 36.4% said that in order to be most effective, we should have a teacher devoted only to that subject. This shows that because Practical Course deals with all aspects of life and also some engineering part, it gives some difficulties to the teachers.
C. 84.8% of the teachers showed positive answers about the introduction of the Practical Course content in the 7th educational course. This shows that it is a good way to give the career education through Practical Course. And they said the effective way to do career education is to learn by inspection, on-site study and hands-on experience, so that it can be different from other subjects.
D. I suggested the most effective way to do career education is through the understanding of the Practical Course in the 7th Educational Course, family and work, life technology, resource management, environmental protection, special club-activities and volunteer work that relate to the text book.
Lastly, in order to get the most effectiveness through career education I suggested that we should:
- expand the training time for the teachers in career education,
- expand the class time in career education,
- obtain more materials for career education,
- have teachers devoted to only Practical Course,
- strengthen the interaction with the local community.
