Rapid social developments have made the environmental problems worse, such like the environmental pollutions, a lot of solid trashes, the lack of resources, though it have increased the standard of living. The life style with concerning of the environmental problems is necessary for the present time but the present consuming styles - intemperate consuming, impulsive purchase, unnecessary purchasing, convenience-oriented consuming desire, materialism, etc. - have negative effects not only on the ecosystem but also on the human alienation. Therefore more and more people recognize that the environmental problems should be solved with the consuming style for the environment preserving, not only by the technological methods. Especially adolescent people are on the way of making their consuming styles and unlike the older generation, they are more likely to receive the newest life styles, so it is very important to get them the consuming life style for the environment preserving. This study has the purpose to suggest a desirable viewpoint for environment to adolescents consumer and basic informations for setting up the right education of consuming culture, by collecting and analyzing the parameters, which are considered to make some effects on the consuming styles of adolescents consumer.
The details of the study are as follows.
First, what is the current status of the consuming minds and behaviors of adolescent consumers for the environment?
Second, does their minds have meaningful differences according to social popular or economic parameters, experiences of education for consuming surroundings, parameters of their experiences for the Green Consuming Movement, or parameters for steps of consumers' socialization?
Third, does their behaviors have meaningful differences according to social popular or economic parameters, experiences of education for consuming surroundings, parameters of their experiences for the Green Consuming Movement, or parameters for steps of consumers socialization?
Fourth, is there some relation between their consuming minds and their behaviors?
Fifth, what is the relative effects of the parameters(social popular or economic parameters, experiences of education for consuming surroundings, parameters of their experiences for the Green Consuming Movement, or parameters for steps of consumers socialization) on the consuming minds and behaviors of adolescent consumers for the environment?
The results of the analysis are as follows.
First, in the degrees of the adolescent people's consuming minds for environment, they show a high degree, marked 75 out of perfect 100. And in the degree of their consuming behaviors, they show lower degree than in the degree of their consuming minds, marked 60 out of perfect 100.
Second, in the degrees of the adolescent people's consuming minds for environment with respect to the social popular or economical parameter, the lower and higher degree of the school, the smaller their monthly pocket money, the higher their father's education level are, the more differences appear and the apartment inhabitants show more meaningful differences. For the experiences of education for consuming surroundings and parameters of their experiences for the Green Consuming Movement, there are meaningful differences in the groups who are taught regularly extracurricular education of environment, who have experienced the 'handing-over uniform' in the activities of the Green Movement in school, who participate in the activities of the Green Movement in school actively, and who have participated in the educations of consuming for environment by a citizen's party. And in the degrees of parameters for steps of the consumers' socialization, more meaningful differences appear in the groups, more effected by imitation, enforcing and social interaction.
Third, in the degrees of the adolescent people's consuming behaviors for environment, in the male student group, in the group of apartment inhabitant, in Seoul, the higher they are, the smaller their pocket money are, the lower the standard of living is, the lower their fathers' education levels, the more differences appear. For the experiences of education for consuming surroundings and parameters of their experiences for the Green Consuming Movement, in the groups who have experienced the frugal market activities in the Green Consuming Activities, who participate in the activities of the Green Movement in school actively, and who have participated in the educations of consuming for environment by a citizen's party and more meaningful differences appear in the groups, more effected by imitation, enforcing and social interaction.
Fourth, there is a static relation between the adolescent people's consuming minds and behaviors. In other words, the higher the adolescent people's consuming minds are, the higher the degree of the consuming behaviors for environment is.
