스포츠 참가와 도시 커뮤니티 형성에 관한 연구 = (A) Study on the participation in sport and urban community development

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 도시 주민들의 다양한 스포츠 참가를 통하여 새로운 커뮤니티 형성의 공헌 가능성을 실증적으로 규명하는 데 있다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위하여 구체적으로 첫째, 사회인구학적 특성과 스포츠 참가의 관계, 둘째, 사회인구학적 특성과 커뮤니티 형성의 관계, 셋째, 스포츠 참가와 커뮤니티 형성의 관계 등을 중심으로 가설적 관계모형을 설정한 다음 각 변수들간의 관계를 분석·규명하였다.
이 연구의 대상은 1999년 현재 대전광역시에 거주하고 있는 일반성인 중 스포츠 참가자를 모집단으로 설정한 다음 집락무선표집법(Cluster random sampling method)을 이용하여 총 1100부를 표본으로 수집하였다. 수집된 자료 중 응답 내용이 부실하거나 자료로서 가치가 없다고 판단되는 82부를 분석대상에서 제외하였고, 최종 분석에는 총 1018부를 사용하였다.
조사도구는 자기평가기입법(self-administration)에 기초한 구조화된 설문지를 작성하여 사용하였다. 설문지는 배경변수로서 사회인구학적 특성을 측정하는 문항과 독립변수로는 스포츠 참가로서 그 하위 변수로 스포츠 시설이용, 사회적 상호작용, 스포츠 참가 상황을 측정하는 문항, 그리고 종속변수는 커뮤니니티 형성 요인을 측정하는 문항으로 구성하였다.
커뮤니티 형성과 관련된 설문문항은 鈴木廣(1978)의 CMM(Community Morale and Mobility)를 바탕으로 國友宏涉·中島豊雄·鈴木文明(1987), 川西正志·中島豊雄(1986) 등에 의해 연구되었던 문항을 한국의 실정에 적합하게 번안하여 조사 문항으로 구성하였으며, 예비조사를 통하여 타당도 및 신뢰도를 검증한 후 사용하였다. SPSSWIN을 사용하여 수집된 자료를 분석하였고, 통계 기법은 빈도분석, 상관관계분석, 다중회귀분석 등을 사용하였다.
이와 같은 연구 방법 및 절차를 통하여, 다음과 같은 결론을 도출하였다.
첫째, 사회인구학적 특성은 스포츠 참가에 영향을 미치고 있다.
둘째, 사회인구학적 특성은 커뮤니티 형성에 영향을 미치고 있다
셋째, 스포츠 시설 이용은 커뮤니티 형성에 영향을 미치고 있다.
넷째, 사회적 상호작용은 커뮤니티 형성에 영향을 미치고 있다.
다섯째, 스포츠 참가 상황은 커뮤니티 형성에 영향을 미치고 있다.
즉, 스포츠 참가는 커뮤니티 형성에 영향을 미치고 있다. 이는 커뮤니티 스포츠 시설을 중심으로 스포츠를 매개로 도시 주민들의 유대감이 형성되고, 자아실현을 통해 그 속에서 커뮤니티 의식이 함양 또는 강화된다. 또한 이를 통해 지역에 대한 애착심·연대감·역할의식 등을 환기시켜, 적극적인 커뮤니티 참가를 촉진함으로써 새로운 이상적인 도시 커뮤니티를 형성시키는 데 중요한 기제가 될 수 있음을 시사하고 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to prove empirically the possibility of contribution toward new community development through various participation in sport of community residents, and to achieve this purpose concretely, the hypothetical relationship models were set up on the basis of, first, relationship between sociodemographic characteristics and participation in sport, second, relationship between sociodemographic characteristics and community development, and third, relationship between participation in sport and community development, and then analyzed and examined relationship between each variables.
As subjects for study, participants in sport among Taejon Metropolitan City residents were set up, and then total samples of 1,100 copies were collected using the cluster random sampling. Among them samples of 82 copies estimated either poor answers or worthless materials were excluded. Therefore, finally, samples of 1,018 copies were employed for data analysis.
Schematized questionnaires based on self-administration method were used. Questionnaires were composed of items measuring sociodemographic characteristics as a background variable, and items measuring participation in sport as an independent variable, and items measuring use of sport facilities, social interaction, and state of participation in sport as its subvariable, and items measuring factors for community development as a dependent variable.
Items of questionnaires related to community development were used after testing validity and reliability through preliminary test. As statistic techniques to analyze the collected data, Frequency analysis, correlation analysis, Multiple regression analysis of SPSSWIN were served.
Results are as follows.
First, Sociodemographic characteristic has an effect on participation in sport.
Second, Sociodemographic characteristic has an effect on community development.
Third, Use of sport facilities has an effect on community development.
Forth, Social interaction has an effect on community development.
Fifth, State of participation in sport has an effect on community development.
The results of this study indicate that participation in sport has an effect on community development. This implies that through the medium of sport based on community sport facilities, contact of residents can get strong, in there community consciousness can get fostered, and affection, solidarity, role-feeling to the community can get awakened, and active community participation can get facilitated, therefore it can be an important mechanism to develope new ideal community.
