Hon-pul is evaluated as a well reflected work of w Cho˘lla-dialect which is written by Myoung-hee Choi(1947-1998). She completed that in 10 volumes in 1996.
The background of the time in that book is approximately from 1936 to 1943 and the place is at Mae-an village in A Nam-won city of Cho˘lla province.
At that time, there was two kinds of people. One was the nobility, the other was the common people, 50 they used a standard language and a dialect.
Object of this study is to take a look Cho˘lla-dialect in this book, 80 the purpose of this book is a study of finding how well Cho˘lla-dialect is reflected in the book naturally.
The first chapter as an introduction is written about study-object, study-history, study-method.
The second chapter is written about the character of Cho˘lla-dialect. In phonological features, grammatical morpheme, vowel-rising, vowel-fronting, vowel-roundings, monophthong of diphthongs. In grammatic morphological features, I've look into postpositional words and the endings of a words. In lexical morphological features, I looked over the noun, verb, adjective, adverb, and interjection, etc.
In chafer 3, set up an Honorific-system in order to take a look an ending of a word. Owing to the Honorific-system, which is used in this work, we can find out Cho˘lla-dialect of an ending of a word. We also take a look standard language for the nobility.
In here, we can divide it into six characters, which are Hapsio, Hao, Haeyo, Hage, Haera, and Hae, because the system of Cho˘lla-dialect of that period-early 1900s is different from the System of modern Cho˘lla-dialect.
In chapter 4, as a conclusion we going to see the things which already studied.
