Recently, the culture and art world in Korea has accommodated in reality only limited audience giving cultural benefits to a specific class unlike the governmental standpoint which aims at a 'cultural nation' for the leap toward the 21st century. It can be said that this is because of inadequate art administration and management.
Actually, Koran performance art organizations suffer severe financial oppression on account of the continuous increase of expenditure needed for artistic activites and insufficient revenue. Fundamentally, the balanced development of economy and cultural art is necessary for the qualitative improvement of human life.
In addition, all men have the right to freely participate in the culture and art life of the communal society as it can be seen in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which the United Nations adopted, so the administrative authorities and those who engage in the art world have the duty to support art so that such human right may be realized.
Hereby, this thesis studied the art administration for the popular activation of performance art. Speaking of the studying method, I examined the books and theses related with administration, management and marketing limiting the range to private administration which respresents the management of citil organizations rather than public administration which represents the policy of administrative authorities, and tried to apply its principles to artistic organizations.
Seeing on the basis of such study, the private administration to enlarge the lowest startum of dance art is related with beforehnd legislative procedure, the selection of works and the analysis of regional character of performance places, and it is ultimately related with the schemes for marketing strategies and fund-raising aiming at financial stability.
One the aspect of finance, producing fund except the revenue of selling tickets to the audience is claasified into the support of government and that of enterprises, and it is also classified into material, human and financial support.
In conclusion, the elevation of peole's cultural consciousness and the qualitative growth of the performance art world can be expected only when the autogenous power of performance art organizations is cultivated and more scientific and systematic private administration is conducted.
