1. A subject of study.
The subjects of this study are as follows:
First, what is the tendency in the Middle School students' attitudes to school.
Second, do they have a difference between urban vs. rural and male vs. female?
In order to examine and analyse as to this difference, concrete subjects are described as follow s:
1. What is the tendency in attitudes to the general school life?
2. What is the tendency in attitudes to the general class work ?
3. What is the tendency of attitudes toward teacher?
4. What is the tendency of attitudes toward classmates?
5. What is the tendency in attitudes to the physical environment activity of school?
6. What is the tendency in attitudes to the extraordinary activity?
The contents and methods of study were selected from 7 domains of attitudes to school. Each 7 domains are divided under6 heads and examined by five stages evaluation measure.(total 42 heads). The subject of study were selected in National or Public Middle School students as a male vs. female and Urban vs. rural students. Total number of 760 students were sampled and compiled statistics according to sexual and regional differences. Then, Z verification was performed analysed.
2. Conclusion
Results of analysis are as follows:
1. The attitudes to the general school life have significant difference in sex and region. Generally, these attitudes have negative reaction tendency. Pural female show the most negative reaction tendency.
2. The attitudes to the school class work have significant difference in region and sex. In these attitudes, rural male also show the most negative tendency.
3. The attitudes toward teacher have no difference in region.
In sex, female show more positive tendency than male show.
4. The attitudes toward classmates have no difference in region, but in sex, have difference. Human relationship toward classmates show negative attitude tendency. Also rural female show the most negative attitude tendency.
5. The attitudes to the physical environment of school have significant difference in sex and region. Only rural female group show affirmative reaction.
6. The attitude to the extraordinary activity have significant difference in sex and region. Generally, these attitudes show negative reaction. Especially, rural male show the most negative attitude. Because they have grown up freely in country, they can not easily adapt themselves to the demand of school such as order, control. competition, etc. Attitude formulation at school or home, therefore, have different learning experience in sex and region. Educational support have to accomplish for the affirmative character building.
3. Discussion
1. The scale of superflous personnel class and too big school compel to control and uniformity. Therefore, it is a wall of personal guidance. It is also hotbed of negative attitude such as feeling of aliention and failure. Thus, political support is needed.
2. School education have to consider as to regional property and individual difference.
3. Country wide diffusion of this study is also desirable.
