An Ecosystemic analysis of marital quality among male Korean ministers

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 한국 목회자들의 결혼의 질에 관한 연구로서 생태학적 이론적 모 델을 경험적으로 검증하고자 하였다. 한국적 사회문화적인 배경내에서 한국 목회자들의 결혼의 질에 영향을 미치는 독립변인들을 추출하였다. 독립변인 들이 어떻게 결혼의 질에 영향을 미치는가 하는 점과 독립변인들이 각각의 수 준별로 어떻게 상호작용을 하는가 하는 점이 연구되었다. 생태학적 연구란 결혼의 질을 둘러싸고 있는 각각의 수준별 체제들을 밝히고 이 수준들의 상호 작용을 연구하는 방법이다. 연구의 피험자들은 미국에서 목회를 하고 있는 전임 사역자 93명이다. 대 부분은 로스앤젤레스 지역에서 목회를 하고 있는 목회자들이고 나머지는 미국 전역에서 연구에 참여를 하였다. 연구의 목적상 문화적 차이를 통해서 오는 적응의 주제들은 연구에 제외되었다. 추출된 독립변인들은 한국 고유의 문화 적 상황과 맥락을 같이하는 변인들이 추출되었다. 연구의 방법론으로서 피험자들이 자기보고를 통해서 보낸 반응들을 통계적 처리를 하는 방식이 채택되었다. 자기보고서는 영문으로 먼저 제작되었고 이를 한국어로 번역하는 교차검증을 하였다. 피험자 세명을 통해서 두 보고 서간의 상관관계를 계산하여 보고하였다. 종속변인으로는 스페니어 (Spanier )의 두사람간 적응척도 (Dyadic Adjustment Scale)가 사용되었다. 연구결과 는 한국 남자목회자들의 결혼의 질을 연구하는데 있어서 미시적 관점에서 변 인들을 추출한 연구보다 생태학적 분석을 통해 연구를 일반적으로 지지하는 쪽으로 나타났다. 이 연구의 결과는 미국에서 결혼의 질에 관한 연구들과 일 치하는 방향으로 나타났지만 그 한국 목회자들의 목회와 결혼에 관한 연구는 한국의 문화적 상황에서 독특한 내용으로 나타났다. 북아메리카를 중심으로 진행된 연구의 결과들과는 상반되게 재정적 스트레스, 시간 압력, 목회자 역 할의 전통성은 결혼의 질과 긍정적인 상관이 있음이 밝혀졌다. 연구결과는 다음의 제언하고 있다. 한국 남자목회자들의 결혼의 질을 연구하기 위해서는 문화적 맥락에서 연구되어야 함을 시사하고 있다. 한국 목회자의 결혼의 질 은 한국의 사회 문화적 상황속에서, 상황의 범주내에서 연구되어야 한다.
