Poet Su-Young Kim Wrote poetry between 1945 and the late 1960s through the historic turbulances of national liberation, Korean war, April 19 student revolution and May 16 revolution by the military. Because of this, most studies on Su-Yong Kim's poetry have focused on the achievements of the poet within the framework of social influence.
Through prose and poetry works, Kim has strongly advocated the free forms of poetry. The styles of his writings were characterized as revolutionary at that time. However, little study has been made so far on the form aesthetics of Kim's poetry.
In this regard, this dissertation starts from the study of the discourse, focusing on each text of Su-Yong Kim's poems.
Firstly, the important lexemes of the texts of his works such as life Isolation death, revolution, sorrow and freedom are analyzed as symbols, each taken from a representative piece -"Changed the horizon" "Dirty Incence burner" "Dust" "Together with a Fly" and "Court in Summer". And then based upon the analysis (composition of meaning) intertexuality of poems including the lexemes are searched. From this composition of meaning drawn out from the research, the poet's views on language, time, his search for fundmanental existence, social awareness, emotional congition and forms of freedom were studied.
Secondly, the dissertation tries to analyze the structure of the discourse of Su-Yong Kim's poetry. It was aimed at defining the sourse of Su-Yong Kim's poetry. It was aimed at defining the source of polyphony, which is Kim's unique figure. A characteristic of his discourse is to express non-routine consciousness by using daily languages. The structural characteristic includes a dialectic structure of discourse with a dual dialogue structure and a dual confronting structure, with confronting meanings and repeated morphemes, thus structure creates unique styles of Kim, which must have been revolutionary at that time. It is the very reason for the incessant popularity of Kim's poetry up to the present.
Lastly, the forms of mediating discourse of Su-Yong Kim's poet were examined. The author analyzed discourse utilizing the concept of Xronotop, the terminology of M. Bakhtine, according to the propotion and nature of spatial and time category. It is an effort to difine the spatial and timely operation of mediating discourse contained in the poetry. The author devided the discourse into horizontal operation of time and space and vertical operation of time and space. The result shows that vertical operation of time and space appered in a circling movement, heading for a transparent and silent space. On the other hand, vertical operation of time and space. On the other hand, vertical operation of time and space appeared in a movement standing upside down (looking upside down) and dropping down movement.
