강강술래의 硏究 = (A) study on the principle of Kang-Gang-soolae

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 민속놀이 가운데 여성들에 의한 최고의 집단놀이인 강강술래를 대상으로 하여 강강술래의 구성의 원리와 민속문학적 특징을 파악하는데 그 목적이 있다.
이를 위해서 본고에서 다룬 자료는 그간의 강강술래에 관한 조사보고서를 참고하였으며, 강강술래의 사설에 관한 자료로는 임동권의 「한국민요집」, 한국정신문화연구원의 「한국구비문학대계」 그리고 지춘상의 「전남의 민요」을 대상으로 선정하였다.
구체적인 전개 내용은 다음과 같다.
II장에서는 강강술래의 어원과 기원, 전설과의 상관성 그리고 전승양상을 토대로 그 생성배경과 강강술래의 놀이가 지니는 기능적인 측면을 살펴보았다.
그 과정에서 강강술래는 원시종합예술체가 영위되던 부족국가시대의 잔존양상을 가장 깊이 이해할 수 있는 놀이문화의 최고 형태로서 파악되었다. 그리고 놀이와 관련한 전설은 놀이의 연행에 동기를 부여하고 강화한 것으로 놀이의 역사화를 이룩하면서 지역적인 성향과 토착민의 정서에 맞게 발전한 놀이임을 알 수 있다. 한편 강강술래는 정월과 추석 보름 달 밝은 밤에 여성들에 의해 행해지는 보름굿이자 보름놀이라 규정하였으며, 강강술래의 원무놀이와 함께 부수되는 여흥놀이들은 신에게 바치는 豫祝儀禮, 感祝儀禮 행위로서, 맞이굿, 결합굿, 생산굿, 배송굿으로 기능하는 놀이임을 알았다.
III장에서는 강강술래의 가창방식의 다양함과 후렴의 갖는 기능을 통해 구연양상을 살펴보았는데, 강강술래는 놀이의 흥취와 구연자의 분위기에 따라 유연한 성격을 가지는 가창민요이고, 다른 유희민요에 비해 짧은 후렴을 가지고 있어 서사적인 내용이 많으며, 앞소리 음의 불규칙성을 정연하게 유지하도록 돕고 있다.
IV장에서는 강강술래에 불리워지는 사설을 공식적 표현과 내용적 표현으로 구분하여 살펴보았다. 공식적 표현은 대체적으로 고정되어 전하는 사설들을 말한 것으로 이를 통해 놀이에 참가하는 부녀자들의 주변적인 심정과 놀이 분위기, 희망에 가득찬 정서와 염원한 바를 읽을 수 있다. 또한 내용적 표현에는 연정적인 표현, 생활감정 표현, 인생무상 표현 등으로 구분하여 강강술래의 독특한 시적정취와 함께 구연자의 저변에 흐르는 감성과 소박한 정서를 알 수 있었다.
V장에서는 강강술래 노래에 드러난 꽃과 달을 중심으로 시적 이미지를 살펴보았는데, 꽃은 인간과 동화공존하면서 생활과 밀접하게 또는 살아가는 생활 그 자체로 표현되고 있으며, 한편으로는 님에 대한 그리움과 초라한 자신의 모습으로 객관화하여 미적 형상화하고 있다. 그리고 달은 임의 부재를 드러내는 매개체로 기다림과 그리움이라는 감정표현을 형상화하고 있다.
이상의 내용을 토대로 강강술래는 과거 선인들의 자취·신명·지혜·한·흥이 어우러져 춤·노래·놀이가 삼위일체를 이루는 종합예술적인 구비전승물로, 神聖指向의 노래에서 世俗指向의 노래로 변화하여 현실과 밀착된 세계를 표현하고 있음을 알 수 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This thesis intends to study of kang-gang-soolae which is the most important team folk dance of all the dance in korea. The study of purpose is principle of kang-gang-soolae and the folk customal characteristics.
As an approach for this thesis, the researcher tried to drawn up the kang-gang-soolae through field work such as Im, dong hwan's 「Korea Ballads」, 「Korea Oral Literature」, and Ji, chun Bang's 「Ballad of Chunnam」.
The content of this study can be summarized by the following.
In the chapter II, establish' Organically kang-gang-soolae of ward, realition of legend, background and functional aspect: In this process, since the most of kang-gang-soolae is identical with play culture inherited in the korea penisula, kang-gang-soolae express social or culture and cultural tendency. legend relation with play is designed to understood the characteristic of region and to applied to native people.
Kang-gang-soolae is traditional Korean circle dance-usually played by girls and women under the bright full moon, the nature of the plays were viewed as the significant meaning in the form of blessing God, such as combination-rite, production-rite, see-off-rite.
In the chapter III, considering ability of singing and fixed melid, kang-gang-soolae is folk music is composed of melody and mood distributed by singers. when we compared kang-gang-soolae with any other ballad, short fixed melody not only express traditional words but also helped previous melody.
In the chapter IV, there are two forms in the song of kang-gang-soolae. The first form 15 formal expression which show women's mind mod emotion.
The second form is content expression which show love toward their husband, empty life, daily life. Through looking over the it, we can know the singer's mood and awarness.
In the chapter V, through looking over the flower and moon in the song of kang-gang-soolae, flower express the awareness of their existence that combined life itself, on the other hand the moon characterize resentement, love and waiting toward their husband.
As the characteristics of kang-gang-soolae discussed above is kind of Oral traditional literature which make up dance, song and play about forefather's remain, wisdom and bitterness. the kang-gang-soolae for song changed from toward God to social life are related to the being existence.
