The purpose of this study is between the parent-adolescent communication patterns and adolescent's interpersonal relations disposition.
More specifically, this study is focused on the analysis of following problems.
(1) How does many variables affect on the parent-adolescent communication patterns?
(2) How does many variables affect on the adolescent's interpersonal relations disposition?
(3) What relationship exist in between the parent-adolescent communication patterns and adolescent's interpersonal relations disposition?
The subjects of this study were 875 students : 435 middle school students and 440 high school students.
As for the test tools for this study, Parent-Adolescent Communication Inventory by Howard Barnes & David H. Olson(1970) and Interpersonal Relations Disposition Scale by Ahn Bum-Hee(1985) were used.
The data that collected in this study was analysed by following methods : frequency distribution, percentile, t-test, F-test, Tukey's HSD(Honestly Significant Difference) and Pearson's correlation.
All the analyses were done by SPSS program.
The main results of this study are as follows :
(1) The background affect the parent-adolescent communication patterns.
(2) The background affect the adolescent's interpersonal relations disposition.
(3) The parent-adolescent communication patterns have significantly positive relations with the adolescent's interpersonal relations disposition.
The above shows that adolescent's interpersonal relations disposition is in close relation with parent-adolescent communication patterns.
Therefore the parent-adolescent communication patterns becomes the important factor that makes a major effect on adolescent's interpersonal relations disposition formation.
