This study is concerned with the developing process of weaving industry that the refugees inroduced, fixed and developed to maintain their lives in Yu-gu and Pung-gi. The author surveyed the size of factories, the characteristics fo factroy distribution, the influence on regional development, the functional establishments, and the state of land-use pattern, The conclusions are as this follow;
1. The refugees in Yu-gu and Pung-gi who are believers in Jong Kam Rok(鄭鑒錄) entered, the regions after Yi Dynasty. On the basis of the skills that they learned in their native place, they began to change weaving industry into their traditional industry form, transplanting industry which caused it to develop nationwide weavign industrial regions.
2. Weaving industry was begun by the refugees in Pyong An Province. At that time Pyong An Province was the advanced region of silk, artificial silk industry. Yu-gu and Pung-gi was the developing regions of cotton fabrics, artificial silk but weaving industry was developed by the refugees.
3. These areas were nation-wide small-size weaving industrial regions. The industrial regions were complexed, so factories were built on their residential areas disorderly and the scale of factories were small and medium size which depend on the poor skill.
4. The industrial population (1356 persons in Yu-924 persons in Pun-gi) employed in the rural weaving factories districts brought employment efficiency compared with the regional economic scale. These economic activities had great influence on regional economic development respectively.
5. Among income tax, supplementary tax and the amount of taxes (in Yu-gu and Pung-gi in 1984), Weaving industry played an important role on regional economy. The shares are 71% in Yu-gu and 51% in Pung0gi respectively.
6. The functional establishments of these two regions show the dependent regional demans, so the factories are fragil, poor economically and most of them are consuming types of factories. Many of them are related to weaving industry.
7. The current problems of weaving industry in the regions are the replacing the old factory facilities and the opening of stagnated market with high-grade goods. It industries are not managed well, it is supposed to be difficult to expand enterprise.
