The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between the speech anxiety and the academic achievement, and the personality traits.

problem 3 : What significant relations are there between the speech anxiety and the clinical personality traits?
The data were based on a sample group of 496 middle school girl students.
For the analysis of the relationship between the speech anxiety and the academic achievement, and the personality traits, Pearson's product moment correlation and step-wise analysis of multiple regression were used.
Conculsions obtained from the results and discussions of this study are as follow :
1. The relationship between the speech anxiety and the academic achievement of each subject was siginificantly negative. Among Korean, mathematics, science, and English, mathematics is proved to be the most important part of the speech anxiety.
2. The relationship between the speech anxiety and every descriptive personality trait was significant.
In descriptive personality traits, the relationship of emotional stability, dominance, sociability, responsibility, reflectiveness, masculinity, and superiority related to the speech anxiety was significantly negative, and conformity and impulsiveness related to the speech anxiety was significantly positive. The relative importance of these descriptive personality traits was superiority, dominance and emotional stability in that order.
3. The relationship between the speech anxiety and every clinical personality trait was significantly positive.
Among depression, anxiety, paranoid tendency, autism, and nervousness, depression was proved to be the most important part of the speech anxiety.
