This study was attempted to find out what differences and how much closely stress level and stress "oping style by the sex, region according to the personality characteristics. The hypotheses of study wear as follows.
I . According to the personality characteristics of children stress level will be meaning ful differences.
I-l. According to the personality characteristics of children stress level will be meaning ful differences.
l-2. According to the personality characteristics of children stress level will be eeaning ful differences by the sex.
1-3. According to the personality characteristics of children stress level will be eeaningful differences by the region.
1-4. There will be meaningful positive correlation between the personality characteristics of children and the stress level

To verify the hypotheses of study elementary school's 352 sixth grade students in the pyochang county, hyesung county, wonju county were slected to exectute Lee-Hyun-Su's Eysenk personality Ruestionnaire, the level of the stress Questionnaire and the test of stress coping styles.
The dealing of data was achieved by the use of the Mean(X), Standard Deviation, Variables Analysis. T-verification, Pearson's productmoment correlation coefficient with the low SPSS program.
The result of this study were as foliows.
l. According to the personality characteristics (psychoticism, extroversion. neuroticism, lie dimension) of children there was meaningful differences(p<.05). Namely. hypothesis l-l was admitted.
2. According to the personality characteristics (psychoticism, neuroticism, lie dimension) of children there was eeaningful differences by the sex ( p<.05, p<.01 , p<.01 ). Namely, hypothesis I-2 was admitted generally excepted from extroversion groups.
3. According to the personality characteristics (psychoticism, extroversion, neuroticism, lie dieension) of children there was not meaningful differences by the region. Namely, hypothesis I-3 was not admitted.
4. There were meaningful positive correlation between the personality characteristics of children and the stress level. Namely, hypothesis 1-4 was admitted partly in the lie dimention.
5. According to the personality characteristics (lie dimention) of children there was eeaningful differences in the stress coping style (p<.05). Namely, hypothesis II-1 was admitted partly.
6. According to the personality characteristics (extroversion, neuroticism, lie dimension) of children there was eeaningful
differences in the stress coping style by the sex (p<.05). Namely, hypothesis l1-2 was admitted generally expected from lie dimension.
7. According to the personality characteristics ( lie dimension ) of children there was meaningful differences in the stress coping style by the region (p<.05). Naeely, hypothesis 11-3 was not admitted generally expect from lie dimension.
8. There were weaningful positive correlation between the personality characteristics ( extroversion, lie dimension ) of children and the stress coping style (p<.05). There were meaning opposite correlation between the neuroticism and the stress coping style (p<.05). Namely, hypothesis II-4 was admitted partiy.
