The objective of this study is to provide a stepping-stone for the development of TAEKWONDO competition by improving the judge talents, regulation of scoring, and competition rules.
The athletes who are well acquainted with TAEKWONDO were inquired of the factors influencing the decision of judges. The results obtained in this study were summarized as follows;
1. Most athletes had a fixed purpose as well as a positive attitude.
2. Decisions made by the Refereeing Officials showed no fairness to the athletes because it was believed that Jury may be involved in a dishonest act.
3. As a rule, the contestants were satisfied with the decision of judges. But there was room for improvement in the competition rules and regulations.
Athletes had a preference for 5-Judge System rather than 3-Judge system.
4. The new scientific method of decision, which uses the mean of scores excluded the maximum and minimum scores, is necessary for the fair decision of Refereeing officials.
In conclusion, we must eliminate a false show of power to make TAEKWONDO the national health sports and then it will lead the improvement of TAEKWONDO more successfully.
