학령전 아동의 언어 능력과 사회적 능력

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 아동의 언어 능력과 사회적 능력이 관련 변인(아동의 성, 형제 수, 사회적 지위, 어머니의 직업 유무)에 따라 어떠한 차이를 나타내는지를 살펴보고, 관련 변인 및 언어 능력이 아동의 사회적 능력에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가를 알아보고자 하였다.
연구의 대상은 만 5세의 남·녀 아동 121명이었다. 아동의 언어 능력과 사회적 능력은 선행 연구를 토대로 본 연구자가 작성한 질문지를 사용하여 평가하였는데, 아동의 언어 능력은 면접법을 실시하였으며, 사회적 능력은 담임교사가 평가하도록 하였다.
수집된 자료는 SAS Program을 이용하여 빈도, 백분율, 평균, 표준편차, GLM 분산 분석 및 중다회귀 분석을 실시하였다.
이 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 아동의 언어 능력 총점은 관련 변인에 따라 유의한 차이가 없었다. 언어 능력의 하위 요인별로 보면 이해력만이 사회적 지위에 따라서 유의한 차이가 있었다. 즉 사회적 지위가 높을수록 이해력이 높은 경향이 있었다.
둘째, 아동의 사회적 능력은 아동의 성, 형제자매 순, 사회적 지위에 따라서는 유의한 차이가 없었으며, 어머니의 직업 유무에 따라서만 유의한 차이가 있었다. 즉 아동의 사회적 능력은 어머니가 직업이 있는 경우에서만 더 높은 경향이 있었다. 하위 요인별로 보면, 사회적 활동성에서 아동의 성, 어머니의 직업 유무에 따라서 유의한 차이를 나타내고 있는데 남아보다는 여아가, 어머니가 직업이 있는 경우에 사회적 활동성이 높게 나타나는 경향이 있었다.
셋째, 관련 변인 및 언어 능력이 아동의 사회적 능력에 미치는 영향력을 알아본 결과 언어 능력이 가장 큰 영향을 미치며, 관련변인 중 어머니의 직업 유무가 그 다음이었다. 즉 아동의 언어 능력이 있을수록, 어머니가 직업이 있는 경우에 사회적 능력이 높은 경향이 있었다. 하위 요인별로 살펴보면, 사회적 능력 중 협조성, 안정성 요인에 있어서는 언어 능력만이 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 사회적 활동성의 요인에 있어서는 언어 능력, 어머니의 직업 유무, 아동의 성, 형제자매 수 순으로 유의하게 나타났다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purposes of this study were to examine
(i) the influence of the related variables (children's sex, the number of siblings, social status of family, the state of maternal employment) to children's language ability ;
(ii) the influence of the related variables to children's social competence :
(iii) the influences of the related variables and children's language ability on children's social competence.
The subjects were 121 boys and girls of five years old from kindergartens in Kwangju.
To asses the social competence of the children, the social competence questionnaire were completed by their 8 teachers and to assess the children's language ability, the children's language ability scale were used for the children by the interview method.
For data analysis, frequency, Cronbach'α were calculated and GLM, Multiple regression were conducted by SAS program.
The main results were as following;
1. The social status of family has the significant influence on children's understandable ability of language ability. That is, so far as the social status of family was higher, the children's understandable ability was high. But the rest of the related variables have no significant influence on the children's total and subscale language ability scores.
2. The status of maternal employment has the significant influence on children's social competence. The children with employed mothers showed higher social competence. And for the social activity, the children's sex and the status of maternal employment has the significant influence. That is, girls and the children with employed mothers showed higher social activity.
3. The children's language ability was tile most significant influence on the children's social competence ; That is, so far as the children's language ability was higher, children's social competence was high.
The state of maternal employment also has the influence on the children social competence. That is, the children with employed mothers showed higher social competence.
For the subscales of social competence, social activity, cooperation, stability were higher when the children's language ability was high.
